So, is crucible of storms really that difficult?

Ive been an LFR hero since Mists. I dont care to join a guild and just raid for the storyline at this point. I took a break through all of Legion and really only ran the current raids once per my 3 main characters. That was until CoS.

I know people will say ‘herp derp. Its LFR, what do you expect’, but damn if I cant get in a raid that doesnt wipe over and over and over. And this is on the first boss! Get in the bubble, avoid the purple and the cone attack from the other dude. Make sure they are brought down together. The one time I got past this event, a storm knocked out my net right when we attacked the 2nd boss.

Again, this isnt anti-LFR. It has its purposes. But while the quality has very rarely been great, it just seems its gone way down hill.

I LFR as well for the most part, I have not yet done CoS for this very reason as well. I am glad for the increase in difficulty but not for how bad people can be even at the simple mechanics of the fight.

I usually raid heroic but for Crucible I only ran it in LFR due to my work schedule conflicting with my guild’s raid schedule.

It apparently is that difficult cause I haven’t even bothered to go back there. Not worth my time one bit - on any character.

Only did norm and heroic Cos a few times if that. Once cleared, it wasn’t something our guild wanted to farm over and over due to it being a pain and the rewards weren’t worth the headache.

LFRs in BFA, feels like they cranked up the mechanics because people complained they were easy to the point where they are over turned. G’Huun, Jaina, COS… wasn’t uncommon when I did them to get in a group that has multiple stacks of determination.

Its probably been one of if not the hardest raid released.

Less than 200 guilds got cutting edge (and its already gone) in the 3 months it was out.

Ok. I feel better than. Was just frustrating.

It’s been largely made easier by the addition of essences, but it is still a very mechanically-heavy fight. In LFR you’ll eventually get enough stacks of determination to burst down the bosses, but it’s still impossible to win if your tanks don’t know what to do, your dps don’t know which targets to focus, and you general raiders don’t know how not to stand in bad.

So yeah, it’s not a raid you can just queue for and expect everything to work out. You need your raiders to have a modicum of understanding of the mechanics.

Crucible is not hard but it has specific mechanics that can’t be igonred. DPS to pop the bubble or die.

Second boss people need to be told what to (not) do. Never touch the trident and usually never the void stone. Ignore them and the group can muddle through as long as the tanks move the adds from the boss.

The problem is sometimes a troll will grab those items and use it to “accidentally” wipe the group many times. It is …unpleasant.

I did CoS once and haven’t been back. The effort was not worth the reward, and the story was practically non-existent. It just seemed like filler.

There is no unique transmogs or mounts to get, so there really is zero reason to even do the raid.

Cleared it once on normal and never considered running it again even on LFR. The rewards just weren’t good enough for the headache.

Unfortunately, Bfa really doesnt have anything in lfr for the ppl that are actively raiding or doing M+.

In past xpacs we had class xmogs, exclusive trinkets and set pieces.
I find myself not even touching it anymore after a pass through of only 1 run, and even that is painful. >.<
