Would it significantly disadvantage me if I wanted to make a Blood Elf Priest or Warlock?

For max level pvp yeah … for Twinks not too bad actually.
None of the racials are so powerful that you would be significantly disadvantaging yourself for the other classes. If you are looking to Min/Max then you probably don’t want to use BE, but the difference isn’t going to be enough to really matter for anyone but the sweatiest players.

AoE silence is pretty potent in PvP no matter what you are. There’s benefits to each race for PvP.
For PvE it’s probably not going to be optimal but like Fayld said it’s not a huge gap anyway unless you’re trying to min/max every last bit of performance out of your character.
It certainly wouldn’t be so bad it qualifies as a meme build.

Play what you want to play. Not having orc or troll dps racials will cause the bosses to die a few seconds later: big whoop.

I plan on playing BE shadow priest as my main. I expect it’s going to be a ton of fun.
I always thought blood elves were meant to appeal to 15 year old boys and anime fans.

Having a silence on classes without silences is always great. Can really save the day as a healer to surprise someone with it.

Yes. Orc is vastly better in PVE (and PVP) and undead is better in PVP. Doesn’t mean you can’t play it. Not like 1k dps difference or something. It’s marginal like most racials(orc is like a free trinket though in TBC…pretty nice in PVE). But if your wanting to be “optimal” then yes it’s subpar in both aspects compared to other options.
Play what you want and do what you want. If you want to be optimal then you know it’s not the pick. If you don’t care then don’t care. Easy.
Since racials only really impact the top 1% of players I doubt they will matter to you, subby.
I’m sure I’ll kill a few. It’d be great if we could skin them.

That’s not really how it works. Sweaty meta culture spreads to casual guilds and it could influence your ability to play the game even if it shouldn’t matter.
