So i'm starting up classic era

And I’ve never had add on’s before any suggestion which ones are good for questing mostly.

I would suggest Questie. I have other addons but for questing this one is the best I’ve found.

Thanks how would I be able to get questie by chance

A common, user-friendly loadup for addons is Curseforge. The one stubling block may be ensuring the files are going to the Classic Era directory and not wotlk/retail locations.

Gathermate2 is also pretty dang nifty if you need help with collecting nodes of ore/herbs/fish

Do an inet search on “curseforge wow addon questie”, then on the right side of the window, select Game Version 1.14.3. At the top of the list is V8.0.0. Click on Release . The orange drop-down button on the right, select Download File. This will download a zip file to your Downloads folder. Open the zip file and move the Questie folder to your World of Warcraft\_classic_era\Interface\Addons folder. Now, when you start up Wow Classic, Questie will be active.

Note that this version of Questie can also be installed in the “_classic_\Interface\Addons” folder since it also works with WotLK Classic.

‘Vendor Price’ is a great addon that is really simple. it shows the value of items without having to go to a shop so if a quest rewards you with stuff you dont need you at least know what sells for more. I also think ‘ClassicAuraDurations’ and ‘Classic castbars’ are good quality of life addons. And ‘mapster’ makes the main map easier.

‘Questie’ of course makes questing much easier as it shows where you need to go.

‘Voiceover’ will read all the quest text to you using helpful ai voices for all the characters.

But yeah there are plenty of addons that provide minor help since you said you’ve never really used them before than if you’re getting them from curseforge you may need to move them into the addons folder in wow classic era.

Good luck

All the ones mentioned already are great, I would add in recount as well since it gives you so much more information about what you’re doing that you can study to improve.

You should also, before just installing recommended add-ons, ask yourself if there’s anything about the UI that you hate or want to improve. There are a lot of add-ons that might be useful for one person and useless for another because the functionality requires you to desire a specific aesthetic/workflow. As previously stated, installing CurseForge is a great way to browse add-ons and quickly install/uninstall them to see if you actually want/need what they do

What does immersion do?

Edit: I guess I can look it up :joy:

It changes the quest/dialogue UI’s to be easier to read, mostly. It increases the text size, feeds it to you in more manageable chunks instead of giant block pages, and makes dialogue and reward options easier to see and select and compare.

While this is a fantastic suggestion, I would suggest on your first Classic Era playthrough that you don’t use it… or at least, disable the thing that tells you where quests are and where to go.

It’s kinda fun on your first playthrough to discover things haha. But that’s not for everybody.

It’s quest listing (which you can enable separately) is really helpful though, or you can try MonkeyQuest.
