With all the interesting characters from World of Warcraft, couldn’t they make a street fighter style game? Who would be a shoto style, who would be a grappler and who would be zoners?
It sounds like it could be interesting if you think about it.

I’d rather pull a Gargos from Killer Instinct if Rosenivy was in a fighting game
Seriously Blizz let me punch people from far away. I want that
I think there should be a crossover event where Street Fighter gets some WoW characters and WoW gets some street fighter characters. Poison and R. Mika on Azeroth would be a dream come true
Valeera or Shaw would 100% be tricky mix-up/set-up characters being Rogues. Jaina would be a zoning character. Maybe with an elemental interaction system, like Gill’s Retiribution in Street Fighter 5, for anyone who plays it. (Hopefully someone knows what I’m talking about lol.)
i loved killer instinct on snes and street fighter II on snes as well.
havent been into combat games since the snes got obsolete
Soul Calibur or Samurai Shodown crossover should be more fitting as it is weapon based.
Absolutely not.
Jaina. she would be sagat tier.
Blood Elves would be the crowd behind cheering?
To me, the best way to play a fighting game is in an arcade.
I’m sure a fighting game with Blizzard characters would be interesting, but they’d probably make it into a phone game.
Back when MK1&2 were new, I enjoyed a small clique of people that hung out at the arcade most nights. It dried up eventually, but it was fun for sure. I can’t afford to feed a machine quarters like I did when I was a teen though, so I don’t go there anymore.
I played street fighter 2 the most.
A Warcraft Street Fighter rip-off would be fun…
But, what we really need is the raw, force of impact of old-school Mortal Kombat complete with over-the-top fatalities.
But…what we’d probably end up with is something more along the lines of Kasumi Ninja, Way of the Warrior, or Shaq-Fu.
Actually…I liked Shaq-Fu—at least the Genesis version, which I paid full-price for when it came out—but that’s because I used to love Delphine’s cinematic platformers, and it’s very much in that vein (and more fun than Karateka, the closest comparison). It’s a jank fighting game, but it’s by far not the worst I’ve ever played or owned.
Eeew. Shaq-fu
Lol
If they went that route, Mortal Kombat would have a easier time fitting WoW related characters in it. Dunno any other game besides that. It would be interesting, for sure.
Killer Instinct style wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing either. Just need some good tunes to rock out on the stages as well.
I loved Flashback and Out of This World, so a cinematic-platformer-esque fighting game from Delphine wasn’t as big of a departure to me compared to those expecting a SF2, MK, or SNK-style fighter. Shaq-Fu is a very different feeling fighter to those. If you don’t like the combat in those I mentioned, or original Prince of Persia, or Cutthroat Island, you are basically not going to get any enjoyment out of Shaq-Fu, it’s about a 2/10 (on the Genesis…the SNES version is effectively not even complete and is a straight up 0/10); however, if you were a fan of cinematic platformers and had enough patience, especially Delphine’s games, then it’s more like a 6/10 (maybe knock off half a point if you listened to the Shaq CD single that came with it more than once, like I did
). It’s not in the good territory especially for your average gamer, but it’s a…special…kind of fun for a few.
Delphine’s Flashback/Fade-to-Black/Out-of-this-World are all much better, especially Flashback, but you can do much worse than (Genesis) Shaq-Fu: all you have to do is throw in the GameBoy port of Mortal Kombat—which I also bought…twice—and see what horrors Shaq-Fu could have been. MK1 on GameBoy is right up there with the Switch port of Ark as one of the worst of all time. The fact that Mortal Kombat 2 on the GameBoy ended up being legitimately decent after the tragedy of MK1 on the handheld is one of the few commendable accomplishments of Probe Software outside of Matt Furniss, Jeroen Tel, and the Follin brother’s music…
In the background of an Overwatch map there’s a “Fighters of the storm” arcade machine that clearly depicts blizzard characters in a streetfighter style fighter game.
Would be sick. I’m here for it.
I had Killer Instinct for the gameboy. I know of de struggle.
Oooh!
Ooh!
A Capcom vs Warcraft crossover game.
I feel like someone just realized that League of Legends is making a top tier fighting game and thought WoW should copy that.
