So I try the new follower dungeon

It is as I suspected. I ran 2 dungeons with the new follower thingy.

Guess what?
Not one decent drop at all.

True.
Even after it was stated that all drops your followers would have won will go to you. this means that not a single drop happened during the entire run.
seems a little excessive.
I know Blizz dosenʻt want folks mass running these things for gear to sell but one piece of on level gear per run wouldn’t hurt that bad would it?

Oh good, I thought you were going to say you got kicked and got the deserter debuff.

When did they say that? I thought it was just a 1/5 chance per boss, same as normal.

Id have to go dig through the past complaints about Follower dungeons not being the hands down best way to farm xp or drops, but i remember someone linking an official looking post about it.

Cant seem to find anything about it. Maybe something i just thought i saw and decided to put my hopes in. Iʻm old I do that.

I can not fathom how bad at the game you’d have to be, for that to happen.

That’d have to be an achievement. “Skynet was right” or “GLaDOS did nothing wrong” or something.

they’re to see the dungeon and learn your role, not for loot.

So exactly like running with a pug? Totally expected.

The followers were getting the loot, but you were not on the discord channel so you didnt know.

You’ll find this on page 165 in the good ol’ trusty book “things that were never said, vol 14”.

Heck, I don’t think you even get loot from every boss if you solo a normal dungeon…I can’t imagine they would give you more loot for running it in an AI group.

Update: Just tested it to verify. You do not get loot from every boss soloing normal dungeons.

Update to the update: Cleared normal Ruby life pools and got 0 pieces of loot…but I did get 15 flight stones. I guess thats a way to farm them if you’re really bored and can speed run.

Maybe. It is why I amended

:person_shrugging: :

Ive definitely gotten greens that were upgrades for that character.
I dont think normal AI dungeons should be handing out 430 gear, personally

It’s obvious that blizzard already doesn’t know what to do with follower dungeons.

Are they a practice tool? Are they an option for gearing as a solo player? Is it a way for them to add dungeon quests to the main story quest?

My money is on it being the latter. Even tho blizzard advertised it as the first thing. And the community has apparently deluded itself into thinking it’s meant to be the second option.

I don’t think blizzard even knows what AI dungeons are supposed to be for.

i’d gladly snackrifice the loot drops for normal amounts of xp as rando dungeons.

So was it zero drops, or no decent drops? That is, did you get something and you didn’t like it, or you got nothing at all?

I’ve been running a bunch of Nokhud Offensives to get Stolen Breath.

You get the odd drop much as you would if you ran a Normal Dungeon in a group. It’s not likely an efficient way to get gear at all.

It seems to be for people who want to get the quests done and see the dungeon, and for people who want to practice a new class/role at a basic level to get the hang of it or learn the route through the dungeon.

Go do WQs and ED Weeklies if you want loot. Then Raid Finder. And crafting. Note that you can get the needed Wyrm Crests from Vault to make an iLvl 476 crafted piece each week.

I’m Ilvl 470 and I haven’t set foot in an M+ or Normal Raid.

I’m surprised people haven’t asked for the dubloon system from late in island expeditions to be used for dungeons, so that even lootless runs would build currency towards a guaranteed loot box.

I guess for higher difficulties that’s what the vault effectively provides?

Follower dungeons uses personal loot, so you are statistically unlikely to get drops. If i recall correctly, you have between 15-20% chance of getting loot from each boss.
