After watching a tutorials on all healing classes on YT…
Nvm, ill just keep the extra long wait times and just DPS. It is WAY to complicated and not worth the effort…
No wonder healers are hard to find…

Expecting to be good at something on the first try isn’t that realistic.
Learn some from guides, but then get in there on easier content and just practice some.
So follower dungeons, LFR, normal or heroic dungeon, etc to just build up some muscle memory and get used to having most of the fight he watching raid frames.
Iteration is needed when learning anything. Read guides, practice some to get experience, read guide again where it starts to make more sense, practice again.
Not expecting to be a master within an hour. But DANG MAN… no tutorial should take 30min to EXPLAIN how to play lol…
That’s just crazy…
Most good dps videos are also about 30 min or more
You cast a spell on ppl that have taken dmg
Cds to keep ppl from dying to big damage
Its not harder then that
Get a healing addon. Map some spells. Learn general rotation. your done
I suggest cell, its like all the best parts of the other healing addons without the jank
It would be a pretty big mistake to watch a class guide if you haven’t even leveled the character yet imo. Unless it’s a basic getting into healing guide, it’s going to confuse you as you won’t even have all the spells yet.
The best way to learn healing in my own experience has been to level the character healing through dungeons. Every level you gain, you’ll probably receive a new spell or passive and after each run you can take the opportunity to read what it does and where you want to put that button.
Im currently using this vs healbot.
I dislike cells debuff notifications. I see debuffs but dont know if i can cleanse said debuff like i know with healbot and healbot has a minimap icon where i can turn the thing off if im not heal spec. I havent messed with cell enough to know if i can do that. Healbot also has better opacity where in an epic bg i can still see my screen
Cell is great for its ease in mapping binds though for sure
I think if you’ve already got another healing addon set up that you’ve been using its best to stay with that one, even if Cell were 110% better, just out of being used to it
But speaking from someone who has used all, healbot and even vuhdo are a pain for new players
(btw, i’m using someone elses profile, but mine definitely shows when i can dispel vs not, but idk how it does it cause i haven’t really bothered looking in lol)
Eh most are the same in what they do, id heard good things about cell so said screw it lets try.
Ill have to youtube some healers to see if they have a profile
The other thing i hate about cell is when you have a buff or like movement ability it puts the icon next to my name but if im upper right corner in 2 columns it blocks the player to the left of me. So no heals for that guy.
Eh, it can be drastically simplified to cast heals on friends to bring their HP bar up.
I think the biggest fail is the default dungeon frames for targeting players. They are so bad.
I use the raid frames and position them below my character which you can do with the base UI. Others like addons for better placement.
also more customization on what you see, some buffs/debuffs are important, some can be ignored
Watching videos are honestly pointless.
Spec heals and run a couple of heroics until you get a feel for what the class can do.
Then do a couple of m0s where people actually need you and see what you really need to do to actually heal the you.
depends on class honestly
some class can just blast heals
others need to know what heals are used for what, or combinations of heals (looking at you pres)
or you could play disc and you don’t need to watch a healing video, you need to watch every encounter video
Yep, it’s definitely the best addon for causing lag and freezes.
sometimes i think about trying it but then just having to move my party/raid frames to a more central location turns me off.
Because they give up at the first sign of adversity?
I spent more time than that just setting up my mouse-over macros on one of my two healers bro.
Have you watched a DPS tutorial? 30 minutes is quick.
About the same except above my character portrait. I use the base UI as well.
Just play Disc, it’s the most visceral healer with PW:S, PW:B, Pain Supp and Penance. You don’t have to guess what button to press, you use your entire kit, it plays like a DPS, other than the fact that you do have to spot heal with Flash Heal and Penance sometimes and use externals on people.
The only other heal you have that is situational is Renew and you use that pre-emptively to put Atonement on people and use it during movement and in between packs, otherwise you don’t really use it during damage events.
