This is not me flaming Blizzard, or saying I’m quitting, or anything like that. Just, as a disclaimer. My girlfriend really wanted to give it a shot, so I said word, and we tried it.
There’s one thing I wanna say that I kind of wish Blizzard did, and that was put more thought into the actual RP elements of the game. For example, it’ll just randomly start raining and thundering. That’s neat. We had weather once upon a time. I dunno what hapened to it, but I would like it back.
I’m not saying go overboard or anything like that. But little changes like that would be fun, especially in major cities. Things like little dust storms in Orgrimmar, or actual rain storms in Stormwind.
And in the interest of fairness, I have always been a proponent of bringing back more involved nights, weather, etc. But playing FFXIV really made me go “Oh, that’s neat” and reminded me of how much I miss it in WoW.

According to forum logic, that thing that people call a game must be dying and they are desperate to find new players…
I know people would hate this, but mobs that could only be found during the day/night would be interesting. I know many would say “but I don’t get to play during the day/night”, but I don’t play during the days much and I would still feel this was a good RPG element.
