Either you were offering literal garbage (no one cares about picking up 100g or some old world mats, literally not worth the time it takes to find you and open the trade window). or you did it on an Alliance character on your 1A:50H realm.
This game is cross sever, you can’t trade with people on different servers.
So after years of cross server tech, people don’t trade willy nilly like a vanilla server anymore

Probably because the only people who stand on the ah steps talking about anything related to gold are bots or gold farmers.
filled trade windows with battle pets and 500g per person that opened trade. 4 ppl came up eventually. i think 3 were alts.
Cant trade cross server.

500g? I mean. That’s nice you are wanting to give stuff away but that definitely wouldn’t tempt me, even if I was standing 5 feet away. And I am not even what you’d call “WoW Rich”.

Put the stuff on the AH for 1 Cu, and see how fast nobody doesn’t pick the stuff up.
I’ve done similar things when I was about to delete a toon which had gold that wasn’t quite enough to do anything useful with.
What I generally do is locate a character that looks like it might be a levelling toon and mail the gold to it. But its nice you would offer to do that for people on your server. Good luck with it.
Had to filter a few heirloomed posers, but i did end up finding a few new players in greens and a few blues. Gave them 5k each and a bunch of rare 25 pets. They were super happy. Reminded me of when i felt that way in game.

Dog gone it, my Gobbie friends were too slow building that portal to Arthas. Oh well, I’ll try selling it off as a gateway to Jaina Proudmoore’s bedroom. snort Won’t the buyer be surprised when he ends up appearing to go nowhere but all his friends disappear?
