A journal picked up in Azsuna has details of Sylvanas’ plans in Stormheim, so it’s not as if its impossible that Genn knew what she was there for.

But the Stormheim storyline as it currently stands in the game does not reflect any assumption that Genn knows about the journal from Azsuna. If that ever was part of his reasoning, it’s been written out.

Also, said journal does NOT make it clear that whatever Sylvanas was going to do would be in Stormheim.
