So, I parse horribly, but have good mechanics. What role do I play to be least detrimental?

Tank , nobody care of your parse , dps , etc

Most bosses -Max two tanks mechanics, taunt of X or move to Y

Join a 30 man pug = orange healing parse.

How about DJ?

i’d say go tank.

your "rotation"s are pretty simple - do damage with what’s availabel and mitigate when you need to. your whole job is mechanics.

They’re horrible for what I want to do.

I literally run 30 man pugs every week, and I’m low blue parsing. :stuck_out_tongue:

and what do you do? heroic? mythic? because its fine and healing parses dont really matter in the first place

Right now heroic, but I’m trying to find a guild to do mythic prog, and I want to push higher keys this expansion too.

So I gotta find something I can at least not be detrimental in.

There is only 1 parse you should care about…

Is the boss dead? Yes? did more than half your team survive? yes? you win the game. Move on.

obsessing about parses or highest deeps is the death of Modern MMOs. Who cares. Did you beat the boss or not…

Of course being the best at what you do and increasing your performance is not wrong, but it is not everything.

Tank.
Seriously tank, every one thinks its hard, but its not, if you can do mechanics, the bus drives itself.

Are you comparing by item level? Or all parses?

Because for all parses if you are low ilvl you are obviously at a disadvantage, but by ilvl there are issues when you try to compare parses especially at high ilvl, because you might be doing everything perfect in your rotation, but external factors such as different gear sets, luck etc come to play.

Obviously if your parses are grey and green you’re doing something incorrectly, but if they are at least blue if not purple or even orange and you are able to achieve those reliably you’re basically good.

that’s undetermined because OP didn’t talk about enchants, consumables, trinkets, statting, or their build.

they could “adjust for ILVL” all day long but that doesn’t change the gear being bad statted. And you can have the exact same ILVL as someone else and parse 20-25% lower due to enchants, gems and bad trinkets.

Or even have same ILVL but it’s averaging over bad slots not weapon/etc.

It’s unknowable but parsing 50-60 is abysmal, so I highly doubt the rotation is anywhere near ideal, that’s nonsensical.

You’re literally in 540 gear bro

you’re asking what class is the best for people who are misplaying their class? none of them, they all require pressing buttons and having gear properly statted/enchanted/gemmed.

Item level. My evoker was around 590-600 for most of the parses, so I don’t think it’s lacking sample size.

And most of my parses are blue, except for my aug which is almost always green.

Yeah, on my mage. My evoker is 602.

Yeah, I checked that WoWAnalyzer site someone mentioned, and it really doesn’t complain that much about what I’m doing, but I parse so low. I don’t get it.

I spent all last week grinding them and I found that if you’re not messing up the eggs on brood, and you’re killing and interrupting adds then it’s not you. And for princess, if you’re not dashing the shades through the group or exploding the balls through the group then it’s not you. Those were the things holding every group back on those fights and once addressed it was a kill

there is no reason to look at or care about healing parses

Can confirm as my heroic tindral parse where I 99ed had multiple pugs left and right.

What spec is your evoker?

I play both aug and pres.

Aug I parse like 40, but the only complaint that site has is that I don’t pick and choose people to use prescience on.

Pres I parse like 60, and it really doesn’t complain at all about how I play it.

find a log of someone who’s killed a boss you’ve killed, playing your class at your ilvl and at roughly the same time on the kill.

see what their button presses are.

“parses” aren’t all built equally.

You mentioned that you’re in pugs that are failing, so I think those fights are probably protracted and eating up your DPS score. so be sure to check the parses that are roughly the same raid dps as your raids for a good comparison.

you can learn a lot by comparing your button presses and how hard you’re hitting compared to other people.

if you’re overcasting something that is eating DPS, that could do it.

not recommending them but you can use a rotation helper addon like hekili and see how your rotation differs from it, how the dps compares. they’re a noob trap because they’re using irrelevant data and not really scaled down well, but it may be better than what you’re doing or give you insight.

literally compare your parse to someone else with a similar parse. if you have all the same button presses but yours are weaker, it’s just statting.

if you don’t have certain talents/buttons they have, it could be the build.

That parse score is roughly meaning there are that many more parses “above” your dps, so check them out and see what’s different. trinkets are massive dps gulfs in this tier.

also healer parses are literally pointless at lower tiers.

Aug is one of the hardest specs to parse well on and play well.

It requires min maxing and learning the correct targets to buff when they are in CDs and when to use abilities. Then it also requires them to push their buttons properly.

Healers in general are hard to parse on because it requires your dps to not use CDs and take damage.

My guilds healers hate normal because nothing happens and bo one takes damage

Should I look at someone running the same hero spec, or just in general?
