So I need to make my own arrows as a hunter?

Or can I buy equivalent powered ones at endgame

No no, you have to make them. Out of lint.

IIRC the strongest arrows/bullets were crafted, or maybe even dropped. The storebouught ones were a tier lower.

The highest damage ammo is actually a drop from dungeon bosses for both bullets and arrows.

The second highest is crafted by an Engineer, or trade those bullets into a NPC for arrows. You could also just buy them off the AH.

The stuff you buy straight from NPCs is after that.

This contradicts other posters

Yes you and your wifes son will need to make arrows if they play Hunter.

I say forget max damage and just buy the ice threaded arrows from AV vendors when we get BGs. You’ll look super cool with glowing arrows!

Yeah, and they’re from lower level quests so their DPS compared to max level ammo is typically lower.

The most reliable ammo to actually use on a regular basis that’s the best is the Engineering stuff.

Here is the real question, how many hunters come to the forums asking why their bow/gun stopped working and dont know ammo was a thing in classic wow.

No lie, all the returning hunter ‘mechanics’ like ammo and the way pets work with loyalty and leveling, etc, were some of the main reasons I’m so excited for Classic.

That and there was something magical about being a ‘good’ hunter back in vanilla. You were like a rare spawn.

I ended up running around with different arrows…the good ones for dungeons/raids and then the vendor ones for farming.

Gets too expensive to use the good ones all the time.

Probably not many since if it’s like Vanilla it puts a giant “You need ammo to fire your weapon” error message in the middle of the screen if you run out.

Why is my pets damage so low? it doing like nothing

Did you feed it?

huh?

Used to grind most of my gold crafting ammo as an engineer, when they took it out of game I 'bout lost my mind and my income!

yup…it was a big seller with the raiding guilds.

The best ammo is made by engineering, and naturally, they sell it at a profit. So you can save money in the long run by making your own. This is what I did with my raiding hunter. He didn’t even have engineering nor mining. I used my rogue to do all the bullet production. My rogue practically lived in winterspring, and had the teleport trinket to get there. Farm ore, craft bullets, mail them over, open lockboxes, mail them over, this was his purpose in life.

yeah best ammo was a dungeon drop and it was a pain to farm

Watched in horror as my friend beat a human to death with his fishing pole, then I couldn’t stop laughing!

Best ammo actually is farmed, but I dont think anyone “really” did that, except for pushing content.

Most people used thorium bullets/arrows
