So I just hit 40

…and killed 1538 ogres in alterac, after warrior trainer lessons, some of which are still pending, I am left with 62 silver and 66 copper, which is woefully inadequate for single training lessons currently costing 1gold 98silver each.

Where can i go about making 150 gold in 4 hours a day within a week to earn my mount and my training ?

I’m switching to my alts until this character buys a mount as i don’t fancy leveling 40 to 60 walking the world. I’ll put in some time to farm gold though.

Thanks!

Go to STV. Farm Basilisk outside Mistvale Valley. The basilisk outside are level 41-42, while inside the cave 43-44.

They drop lots of trash, tails/hearts/eyes/etc. Can also drop BoE green, and blue if you’re lucky. Skin them all if you have the profession, or there’s also 2-3 Mining nodes there both inside and outside the cave.

I actually made a lot from making and vendoring tailoring bags/ silk shoulders (20 silver a pop) and killing mobs that drop a ton of greys like basilisks in STV or murlocs out in Dustwellow. it adds up really quick. i got my mount 2 days ago and im already back up to 30 gold.

You leveled just by attacking mobs? ugh so boring… I do dungeons even though its very time consuming for maybe half a level.

Just some advice for your next character: Don’t buy every ability right away. For the most part, you won’t use all of them until later, so you’re better off only buying the essentials.

I’m 60 w/ 23 abilities left to purchase, which doesn’t include the added ranks for the abilities that require multiple rank purchases. I bought the main abilities i’ll be using for dungeons and grinding, and will slowly purchase the rest after I finish buying my epic mount.

There is also a relatively quick-spawing chest in that cave that has four spawn points. There’s also a rare spawn that drops a sword that vendors for slightly under 2g. But yeah, this is THE grind spot for mount money.

Leatherworking to 250. Cured rugged hides are going for 40-55g on my server. These single handedly paid for my mount right now. As ive sold 3.

Arcanite aint selling due to no good recipes yet (whos been lucky enough to get lionheart helm?)

Mooncloth will likely be more right now as well.

I pressed on without getting my mount immediately. Even if you consistently purchase all skills, you should have your mount by level 44 or 45 at the latest. Just don’t spend gold at the AH. If you’re insistent on farming, Basilisks and raptors both drop high value grey items that you can vendor.

Edit I reread your post and see that you don’t want to press on, but really the lack of mount starts to hurt by Tanaris and Feralas especially. If you’re mob grinding in high density areas, not having a mount would have less impact.

If you’re on a PVE server, raptors and basilisk south of Grom’gol are great. If you’re on a PvP server, you will have a lot of interference here. You can also farm raptors in southern Dustwallow marsh.

I always liked to grind the Tauren camps near camp mojache in feralas when I hit 40. When you get gray 2h weapon junk drops they vend for 1g and they drop lots of mageweave you can sell. Also there are a lot of wolves around there that drop meat you need to keep leveling your cooking if you’ve been keeping it up.

62 silver? from that many?
no greens?
no blues?

i’m calling BS,
show me proof or gtfo

Let me say grats, Thonnnnng

Forty.

Grats Thong, Thong Thong Thong Thong.

You can make any amount of money if you just don’t spend it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Im concerned about getting that much gold too, I feel like spell costs are gonna be what gets me. But I will keep at it, I am already copper pinching. Ok I bought a wand for 4s but that is absolutely a necessity for a leveling priest, or I’d spend my weight in silver for water.

The secret is doing quests at max level

I got my mount at level 40, while leveling up engineering. I did find a BoE epic, but it never sold on AH. The last bit of gold was made from vendoring heavy silken bandages. Try farming humanoids that drop silk and are easy to kill. You could farm SM. 4 hours a day, for a week. Should have plenty.

Each ogre drops 1.5 silver.
1538 ogres x 1.5 = 2250 silver appx
2250 silver is 22gold 50 silver
repairs, lessons allready done so far, some good blues on AH, potions
lessons are appx 2 gold each at this level and i allready took some.
1538 sounds big but when it’s silver not gold, it ain’t big enough!

Also, folks, i named my warriors ONLY thong n gstring because i main tanked for my guilds back in the day and when i stood under HUGE bosses, i made me feel like those. You’ll know when you tank buggers higher than 10 storey buildings equivalent in warcraft. You pull then go tank with back to wall and see the boss’ lower regions, hence the names.
My priest are mindblowing and confession
druids are Hydration and Rehydration
paladins are Realsteel and Pawnstar
Warlocks are Halucination and Identity
Fire Mages are Explosive and Devastating
Frost mages are Freezer and Iceworks
(2 accounts - 6 of these above 15, rest at lvl 8 - will play all over next 2 years. OCD for names).

You need to watch a video on farming spots. I also am certain you are purchasing your skills too frequently. Avoiding higher ranks of some abilities will save you some cash.

Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tWldZYbpwA

A YouTuber called “Solheim” the video is “WoW Classic - Top 10 Goldfarms to do while leveling” for those who are link phobic.

Just got my mount on my sham at 43 after not buying many many spells and borrowing gold from multiple friends, farming for hours, etc. It’s not easy cause once you get it life is a lot easier.

i just farm the underwater cages outside of shadowprey village in desolace for shellfish. theres a NPC on the docks that will buy 5 of them for 55 silver and a fish. as a shaman i can stay underwater indefinitely and ill farm up about 10 g worth in a hr and a half, on top of all fish/trash/greens i can sell. also alot of strangle kelp around to herb and i make agi pots i sell on the ah
