So I heard they're removing Vuhdo

Same here for my disc priest as I mainly play voidweaver on it (don’t do high enough content on it to be forced into oracle).

Well, i heard it’s not butter.

Don’t bother with them. The post listed tons of addons and said “will be removed or heavily affected”.

OP is baiting because Vuhdo is on the list and they assumed that means it’s getting removed.

Blizzard: Tries to be as clear as possible about what addon functions they’re working to incorporate into the base UI and which addons/addon functions are going to be impacted/restricted by these design goals, which also includes modifying encounter design once all of these changes are in place

Players: They’re removing all addons!

So many players have become so dependent on addons that the very idea of playing without them is simply inconceivable. The default UI that was revamped since Dragonflight is perfectly fine for healing. If you can’t do it, that’s a skill issue and you need to get better.

So, OP, can you provide a link from anyone from Blizzard stating this is happening?

Just curious, asking for a friend. :grinning:

That is where I stopped. Blizzard never tries to be clear about anything especially communications.

And therein lies the problem that leads to threads like this one. People read headlines and assume the rest.

None of the functionality that VuhDo provides is going to get restricted by Blizzard. They want to target the ability to parse the combat log. Tracking your own cds and auras will still work. Healbot will still work. Most of what weak auras does will still work.

They could literally hire these addons devs. Just saying, they know the code.

No lie, I thought this was about an in game NPC

I main priest and your vuhdop and healbot can all go.

Clique is more than enough for mouse over and you can use in game raid frames for your grid. If you need more than that you are doing too much. I just can’t wait for Ion to stop being a coward and ban players from using DBM and any WA that allows boss data

Many of the proposed changes would make vuhdo and other healing focused add-ons little more than for changing the look of the bars instead of the way information is provided by the base UI.

Without major overhauls for several healing specs high level play of them would become extremely difficult, to the point of many becoming nonviable for the majority of players outside of content that they can power through by over gearing it.

Blizzard is risking a lot of their player base with these coming combat add-ons changes.

I do wonder if maybe there is some belief that maybe the players who focus only on raiding and m+ will mostly quit because developing those things seems like the greatest cost for blizzard. It’s a stretch, but who knows what the decision makers are thinking. They might believe that the loss in players would be more than offset by lowered dev costs.

Personally I know I’m not going to play if they try to make me heal with the base UI, unless they just put in a 1 to 1 copy of an add-on like vuhdo to let me customize as much as I want.

All six of them.

As a healer main, I can live without Cell, VuhDo, Healbot, etc. mostly because I quite using them years ago and just favor Clique. But they R E A L L Y need to improve their click casting feature… Because it is so frikin limited in what you can assign to it that it’s literally a “absolute worst case scenario” to use.

Technically they are not removing Vuhdo or any specific add-ons. They will be curtailing what real-time combat information is available in the API that such add-ons use. Not every add-on will be impacted. They will not be removing anything from public API access until after that have implemented combat-assistance directly in-game (the CD manager is not the only thing they have in mind… think Details, Deadly Boss Mods, perhaps Vuhdo/Healbot, etc.).

So the removal of info the that these add-ons use isn’t happening for years (perhaps not until well after The Last Titan). Having said that, I think it’s fair of you to voice your concern in GD, since some community manager may take it upon themselves to relay it to someone on the dev team (but my bet is that no dev is reading GD to see your comments directly).

Since there’s so much unknown about what will happen, and it’s years away, saying “they’re removing Vudho” today does seem a bit like saying the sky is falling.

Read this Wowhead article and watch the video hosted by Blizzard (ignore all videos that are from “hot-take” streamers or misleading sites like PCGamer, go to the source).
