So I gave Chat GPT a challenge

I just started toying with Chat GPT today out of boredom, and curiosity sparked by a friend. So I gave it a simple, yet impossible challenge: Fix WoW’s problems. Here’s what it spat out.

Fixing World of Warcraft’s problems involves addressing various aspects of the game that may be causing dissatisfaction among players. Here are some potential approaches:

  1. Listen to Player Feedback: Actively engage with the player community to understand their concerns, suggestions, and priorities. Implement changes based on player feedback to improve the overall gameplay experience.
  2. Address Technical Issues: Resolve technical issues, bugs, and server stability issues promptly to ensure smooth gameplay and reduce frustration among players.
  3. Balancing Classes and Content: Continuously balance classes, abilities, and gameplay mechanics to ensure fairness and diversity in player choices. Provide challenging and engaging content for players of all skill levels, including both casual and hardcore players.
  4. Enhance Communication and Transparency: Improve communication with the player base by providing regular updates, patch notes, and developer insights. Transparency regarding game development decisions and future plans fosters trust and understanding within the community.
  5. Combat Toxic Behavior: Implement systems to address toxic behavior, harassment, and cheating within the game. Encourage a positive and inclusive gaming environment where all players feel welcome and respected.
  6. Revitalize Endgame Content: Keep endgame content fresh and engaging by regularly introducing new raids, dungeons, quests, and events. Provide meaningful rewards and incentives for completing challenging content to keep players motivated and invested in the game.
  7. Improve PvP Experience: Balance PvP mechanics, address issues with matchmaking, and provide incentives for participation in PvP activities. Create a diverse range of PvP modes and battlegrounds to cater to different playstyles and preferences.
  8. Streamline Gameplay and User Interface: Continuously optimize the user interface and gameplay mechanics to enhance accessibility and ease of use. Streamline complex systems and mechanics to reduce barriers to entry for new players while maintaining depth and complexity for experienced players.
  9. Expand Social Features: Introduce new social features, guild enhancements, and community tools to foster camaraderie and collaboration among players. Facilitate player interaction and cooperation through group finders, community events, and cross-realm activities.
  10. Innovate and Evolve: Embrace innovation and explore new ideas to keep the game fresh and exciting over time. Experiment with new gameplay mechanics, systems, and content updates to evolve World of Warcraft and adapt to changing player preferences and industry trends.

By addressing these key areas and actively engaging with the player community, World of Warcraft can work towards resolving its problems and maintaining its position as one of the premier MMORPGs in the gaming industry.

It almost sounds easy when ya read it…buuuut. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

TL;DR: Generic and broad statements that can apply to literally anything. Forums are shook!

I know right? I’m sure it wanted to be helpful…somewhere.

Do my horoscope next.

For every person that thinks the game has issues there’s another that thinks the game is fine as is. The game will NEVER satisfy 100% of the playerbase ever, there’s no way to “fix” the game. You either like it or you don’t, and if you don’t then it’s probably time to move on to something else

The weird thing with AI is that its both smart and freaking DUMB

Like it ain’t even a wisdom versus intelligence argument.

Oh I have a few nitpicks with the game, but over all I’m not too upset with WoW right now. This was more of a just for fun thing.

It’s quite interesting that ChatGPT probably uses this public forum as part of its training data. I wonder if it will read this and the next iteration will be even more confident that this is the right response to this prompt!

AI: just like us! Making up things and then remembering hearing them somewhere (from ourselves or someone who shares those thoughts) and believing even more strongly in those things.

Agreed. Still this was a funny way to pass some time.

That is both funny, and objectively horrifying…also badass mog Rita.

I actually felt bad for a math ai

It worked fine until it got some of human data. We made it. Dumber.

WE MADE IT DUMBER

That sounds about right for the Human race.

Don’t tempt me to use it to write a better Wizzard story than She-who will not be named. I’ll do it Sen.

And then I’ll stare at all of my novel writing projects, set them on fire and die a little inside. :sob:

I used to dream of writing a novel once. Before nerve damage in my hands, PTSD, and mental illness shredded those dreams.

I’m still trying. But I got all of the neurological problems from Long COVID, so it’s a struggle.

I’m sorry you went through all of that. :people_hugging:

It’s okay, I managed to get through. I lost a lot, but found my happiness. :people_hugging: Don’t give up. I know you can do it!
