So I broke down

and re-checked “share game data” with third party developers so I could use io. Without it I could not check player experience without laboriously searching their name on WoW Armory (often impossible with strange marks on letters) or asking each individual and waiting for response. People link fake achievements when you ask for AOTC. Even with IO it can take an hour to build a raid and then people afk from waiting. Today while forming first fresh heroic , a player from Stormrage invited himself to my raid. I removed him. He started whispering and abusing me because of this. I put him on ignore. The harassment continued. I reported him for cheating. Still his whispers came. Clearly, IGNORE and REPORT PLAYER was not working. I opened a ticket, finally the whispering stopped.

No one else had assist in the raid to invite him. This is the second time I’ve seen this happen. It’s a CHEAT. When I said How could this happen? in raid chat, another player from Stormrage said “LOL ARE YOU RETARDED HE’S USING R6 LFMAOLLLLLL”…I googled R6 and it may be an in-game boosting service. …
so gee thanks Blizz, this is what we get from sharing our game data to “improve” our gaming experience…??! Or worse, would it happen even with Game Data Sharing Disabled?

Blizzard takes cheating and boosting services very seriously but they cant action what there not aware of and yes thats possible if u cant report ingame email hacks@blizzard.com.

No player can invite themselves to your raid unless you have it listed as “auto accept.” If you do not, then you, or someone with assist, must manually invite them. No boosting service, any kind of illegal service, bot, cheater, etc., would be able to invite themselves to your raid without you giving them the specific ability to do so, under any circumstances.

Clicking “share your information with 3rd parties” in no way gave another player the ability to automatically join your raid.

Are you sure your raid wasn’t listed as “auto accept”?

Also, as far as I can tell, “R6” refers to the game “Rainbow Six.” I can’t find any boosting services or bot software or anything like that called “R6.” I dunno if that player from Stormrage might have just been having a laugh at your expense.

That option appears to only be for the group listings created through Blizzard’s ‘Find Group’ option (such as when we click the Find Group icon in the quest objective tracker for a world boss or elite rare).

Examples

World Boss option in Quest Objective tracker

Auto-accept is given for this type of listing

But not given for a manually created personal group

Yes I am sure it wasn’t on Auto Accept. Yes I am sure IGNORE and REPORT PLAYER wasn’t working. Could it be because I deleted any of the following files before running game?
BlizzardError Application
.flavor.info
blob-storage folder
d3d12.dll Application extension
DBGHELP.DLL Application extension
What does the BlizzardError app do? I deleted because I was getting lua errors in the middle of my screen.

  1. There is no more auto accept outside of elite wqs.
  2. Putting someone on ignore should be final. If they’ve worked out a way around that then they’re exploiting some bug.
  3. I have no idea what R6 means.

Having to share data with a third party to play a video game is not worth it. But to each his own.

Oh, my sweet, summer child.

Sounds like you’ve got an addon with a feature you don’t understand or know about that’s causing you problems. Someone can’t invite themselves to your raid.

Do you have Exorsus raid tools by chance?

No I do not use Exorsus. The addons I use are DBM, Details!, OIlvl, HHTD, WQ Tracker, TomTom, Decursive, and recently, RaiderIO and Warcraft Logs. In order to have the latter 2 updated I had to make a special request for Blizzard to update the API so my characters would show propertly. Took a few weeks.
