So I 5-Starred Torghast

Some of the purple powers are fun, I guess it’s class dependent. I can live with this one but, as you mentioned, the tediousness of finding two elites then dragging them together and not forgetting to use the empower, etc, it stops the pacing of the fun in order to make sure I’m checking all the boxes.

To me, the “fun” is seeing how fast and effectively I can rampage on a killing spree.

Someone isn’t Kyrian and it shows.

(Not mocking BTW but Kyrian Monk covenant ability powers are hilariously good.)

You can’t take my sparklestomp! Actually, my Faeline Stomp anima powers are all my favorites.

I don’t think that the people that defend it are being sincere. Most of the defenses for the poor design are, “well I can 4 star without getting 100% on the timer,” and fail to mention the foolish dance that they performed to get the 4 stars.

I really like the points and tone behind your post, very reasonable while still criticizing the shortcomings.

But honestly. This is becoming Blizzard’s calling card. Release a feature, people don’t like it, it treads upon itself and then Blizz takes 8 months to get it right.

I’d really like if they could just start releasing content that doesn’t shoe-horn people into playing exactly how Blizzard wants. People can’t do Torghast their way anymore, they have to do it Blizzard’s way if they want more than a 3 star rating.

All of Shadowlands so far has been “We want you to play the game like this.”

As fun as those are, popping Weapons of Order and literally becoming a god for 30 seconds with either (or particularly both) WoO powers is hilarious, particularly in Twisting Corridors when you get a strong stack of traits.

I dunno, I 5-starred a wing today literally just running like I normally would run Torghast. I didn’t do any dance or special actions. 100% completion, relatively low speed (didn’t get great powers for speed clearing until end of run), didn’t kill boss in 40s or less.

Did you run as DPS? I really don’t feel like it’s as much of a headache for DPS.

Depends on spec. For some, it’s a stomp, for others it can be a major pain.

Certain tanks and healers can just blow through it because their powers make up for the lack of dps their toolkit normally has so they effectively have no downside.

Like rsham might start off slower but I’ve seen them doing 30k dps on final boss while my rogue is doing like 15-20k. But my rogue has poor defensives unless I get really lucky. Whereas he can always just heal or summon rockyboi

Torghast is like a janky, Soviet-era knockoff of Hades. Glorious Popular Revolutionary Roguelite Game.

That’s an interesting and smart way of putting it. I wonder what Blizzard’s vision is?

You did not 100 completion and are 34 points over 200, you overkilled it , simply doing 100 completion would have giving you leeway of 40 points …

I 4star all runs until i started saving 1000 phantasma to buy off adamant vault , which pushed me to 5 star (200-210 score) Without even bothering to do that so-called checklist you speak of .

Ok, dont 5 star it if you think its that much of a chore lol

I’m playing a tank. If I do not play a very specific way, I can’t even 4 star to progress my layers. In order to succeed, I have to take anima powers that I hate and play in a way that isn’t fun for me. For the record, prior to applying this checklist playstyle and taking Corrosive Mist (an OP power that I hate, which enabled the 5 star run), I only got 2 stars from playing in a way that I didn’t hate.

So I can play in a way that isn’t fun to me, and the game tells me I’m doing gr9. Or I can play in a way that’s actually kind of fun and interesting and the game tells me I’m playing wrong with its feedback mechanisms.

It’s not fun. If you’re playing a DPS this style of gameplay might suit you. It doesn’t suit me. I still have to do this so I can play the parts of the game I do enjoy, and I would prefer it to be fun.
