Quests hit good design in Dflight. They’re more engaging than older styles, the only thing they have to fix here is to have more interesting main characters.
Dflight, by far, has the best side stories of any expansion. It felt like they took all the good things they could do, and gave all that energy to the side stories. The main story for Dflight doesn’t do anything awful, but it played itself safely so it ends with a feeling of “meh” because of how much cooler things in the main story could have been.
The story was mostly alright, there’s just segments of it that end with you feeling that there could have been more.
Dflight did bring about the BEST gearing system the game has had so far, with craftable items finally not being utter garbage. Class design has also hit its peak, I would say, for most classes/specs.
Raids were good, M+ was good, PvP is getting some attention. All around I would call it a good expansion.
In a S-E tier list, I would say Dflight comfortably fits in A tier. The one thing holding it back is a cool main story
I liked this expansion. I played an evoker for most of it which was fun. I think they told a mostly consistent story that didn’t go off the rails. I think BFA and SL both had stories that went wonky towards the end of the expansion. I liked Najatar(sp) for a small zone patch, I didn’t like the small zone patches in SL and they were kind of weak in DF. Overall I enjoyed the expansion. In general. I wish expansions weren’t their own mostly self contained zones. I wish the main world had more focus and changes happen each expansion.
In my own opinion it was a win for me, enjoyed the campaign and dragon riding at the start was fun glad we got regular flying to. The raids were a blast I casually pvp this season and that also was fun. Over all a solid expansion with lots to do. Can’t wait for war withing when we can dragon ride flying in our flight forms that’s gonna be awesome. Also I loved the new druid skins and as a balance druid that’s another big plus. I hope they add more skins in the war within.
It’s a good expansion but also as others have already mentioned, it lacks outside world goals. So you pretty much focus on instanced content. That’s not the worse thing to me but after a while it feels a bit too repetitive. Especially when forbidden reach and zaralek caverns was the new patch zones we got. Also the profession system they introduced is bad. I am trying to get into it as much as I can but it is not enjoyable. Fishing is probably my favorite.
Other than that dragonflight has introduced some great new features. War within looks like it’s gonna double down on those positive quality of life changes. The dragon riding is nice, trading post I look forward too every month, the new class is fine (I don’t play it but ppl seem to like it!).
It’s fun, the best expansion to me since legion. Better class design than legion even.
We started out with very little bonus currency to deal with… coming out of SL that was a welcome improvement. The situation quickly devolved to worse than SL after multiple patches. We have more currencies in the game both in the tab and in our bags than I know what to do with.
Professions are by-far worse for me. Work orders are terrible too. This system had so much promise but failed to achieve greatness. The weekly quest was so different for each profession too - some mats were horrible where others were simple.
FOMO play style is worse than ever. Prime, Twitch, Trading Post, professions with no catch up, wall-clock oriented events.
Worgen had the potential for a really cool event… with tails… and they did not deliver on cool content or tails. Or a new city hub worth visiting.
The events are still not evergreen. They made some attempts to improve them but it’s still rough getting a group if the event you want is not in rotation… on a Tuesday… right after reset. (Looking at you community feast)

The fart moles are an awful group and I barely reached 15 renown. I hate going down there. The zone is ok. The moles are not ok.
Warlocks, rogues, mages across all races…. But who else gets that treatment!? It also creates a weird imbalance with horde and alliance for race / class options.
What did it get right? This one is hard for me. I keep going back to add more to the wrong side.
I really liked the new Night Elf town. The Night Elf heritage armor too. The warden outfit. All 100% for me.
I like the new raid and I lfr it pretty frequently now.
Character customizations - for what they added - were welcome. I always appreciate more options.
I’m putting Dragonriding here but it was often hated by others. I liked it. I think they should have done better with vigor and recharging though. I also think they should have considered accessibility options a lot earlier.
I’m sure there is more to share. Off the top of my head though this is pretty much it for me.
