So how much harder is Nighthold?

I have an ungeared character, I’ve spent the past few days getting into Mythic ToV and EN instantly when I sign up to a few regardless of my ilvl, but NH is hundreds of declines and I noticed that a LOT of the groups are non-fresh, it seems tons of groups are falling apart before clearing

The bosses have more health but that’s about it. Though, the world quest mob in there right now after first boss comically has more health than all the actual bosses. Another whack scaling issue.

Just did heroic, and I will say it’s a bit harder. It’s hard to say though if my group was undergeared or not as I just joined one randomly.

We never had a wipe or anything, but a few people died each fight which didn’t really happen in the first two raids. Sometimes people would fall victim to trash in emerald nightmare but that had more to do with people getting left behind. This was bosses managing to kill people in heroic.

Hard to give a definitive of why that was though. I will say as a healer the fights were lasting longer than any of the previous raids. Not long, but the bosses weren’t dropping dead right away if you understand.

Did you happen to catch and remember any specific health values? I recall Nythandra with a full N/H group has something like 3B health. If bosses in Nighthold have 5-6B then that’s a pretty big jump, but for some groups I’ve been in where that 3B health bar was dropping in 15 seconds…

Sorry I wasn’t really paying attention. I was really focused on trying to keep people alive. (I know having to actually heal). The bosses were taking almost a minute for my group to drop though, I kind of assumed we had to be somewhat undergeared. It’ll be interesting to hear what those health values are.

Heroic emerald nightmare had the bosses dropping within 10 seconds on average. So, unless we had a bunch of new people the health values are probably more than doubled.

I did it awhile ago but if I remember correctly I think some of the later bosses in Mythic NH had maybe 12Bish health or so.

Mythic bosses were taking roughly 30 seconds each.

Waltzed into Nighthold on mythic earlier with a raid of 700+ people. The bosses took maybe another 10-15 seconds depending, but that was it. No one died to anything.

Checking back in, just moments after posting this thread I got invited to a group. We cruised through, no wipes, no issues. Bosses definitely taking much longer in comparison to ToV/EN but still under a minute each. We never needed to be careful or anything, we pulled entire rooms, we pulled Botanist and Tich with their entire rooms trash, etc. Raid took like 30-35 minutes I think.

Got a couple bosses down before Ekhana posted asking for health so here is what I got after:

Spellblade Aluriel: 10.24B
Star Augur Etraeus: 15.7B
Botanist Trio: 4.87B each
Tichondrius: 12.1B (I think, this one I got super distracted on and forgot the number)
Krosus: 12.17B
Elisande: 4.75B per phase
Gul’dan: 14.04B
Illidan: 8.09B

Overall, not hard with a moderately powerful group. We had 2 740s and everyone else probably averaged around mid 600s. I was a lowly as hell 601 with only 12m health so I died a number of times. Everyone else with 20m+ almost never died outside of boss 1 shot attacks they failed to dodge.

If you get declined a lot for this no worries, it’s mostly just people being overly strict for the new content release, it’s not hard enough to warrant big gear requirements, people will likely chill out within a couple days.

Elisande and Gul’dan must be awful, having to spend more time listening to their BS dialogue than actually killing them.

lol

Yeah, it took each of them longer to monologue than it did to actually finish the fights, especially with the RP with The Demon Within.

Mechnically not really that much harder but I’m not sure what people expect in ilevels as a difference. I imagine my really low 600’s might have some trouble being accepted in random groups but who knows, a handful of 740’s can carry a lot of weight.
I saw a total party wipe except like 4 tank DH’s during Chronomatic Anomaly. I’m not sure what the mechanic was but it didn’t happen in heroic.
Enemies are just beefier, stuff is taking ~40seconds instead of like 10 to kill.

Eonar is gonna be interesting…
Then again it’ll only take one person who knows what to do I guess.

OH and we can’t forget mythic Kil’jaeden.

I’m not too worried, honestly. It’ll be even easier by the time Tomb and Antorus releases as more people reach max item level and increase their vers.

Oh I forgot Eonar was Legion. That’s going to be… interesting.

I took 20 740 and mopped the floor.

Tony’s like 25 min maybe to finish the whole thing. It was just so much running around.

These are not very remix friendly raids. We are running around more than actual dps on boss.

Nighthold’s objectively a step up in ‘difficulty’ from EN and ToV. It would appear that while the power cap isn’t going to increase over the duration, the raids will be getting ‘harder’ as we go. I wonder what ToS and Antorus are going to look like once they’re released.

You can definitely split push these bosses and cut the raid time way down. I tested a split push group in Mythic EN, and we all got the boss loot mailed to us (including frags). You can safely accept the lockout pop-up when bosses die; you’ll still get the loot.

Do you not remember Siege of Orgrimmar? Lol NH is still less running.

The first boss in H with full group had 7.8b health and in mythic had 8.something billion health.

The World Quest boss had 11b
