When you level up to 80 anyway, first opens up at 71 which is to chose your hero spec.

10 - you get first at level 71 then one per level. Though at level 71 you actually get 2, the initial talent and one you have to choose. The initial talent doesn’t count as one of the 10. On beta on toons I levelled I chose to go down the middle and get the bottom talent asap - but you end up with all 10 so except for those places where there is a choice node there is no difference. The big choice is which hero tree to choose - each spec has 2 choices. But you can choose the other tree at any time or swap between them for different contexts.
