All the guides I see online seem focused on how fast you can get tokens after you get the initial 100. But the first batch is really a slog, and since I have zero interest in PvP whatsoever, and I’m new to TWW, it feels like a bit of a mess trying to acquire any.

I did it pretty fast without doing BRD or PvP, you just do everything else, all the TWW weeklies give bronze along with the anniversary stuff, you can use LFR to kill the queen etc…its super easy.

Run TWW content - killing Queen is 15 tokens, a few of the Dornogal weeklies are 10 tokens each, the rest including the zone events / weeklies are 8 tokens, the WB is another 8 tokens.
All the Tanaris event stuff are much lower, like 2-3 tokens each.

I didn’t get any tokens off the world boss on any of my chars. 
Are you certain? There’s no popup like when you get loot or gold, it’s just dropped into the chat window along with all the regular system messages.

or even most of it
BRD gives a wild amount of tokens. Would recommend.

Only after getting the 100 tokens achievement, otherwise only the weekly quest to kill the last boss awards any tokens.

Queen ansurek kill: 15
5x TWW zone weekly events: 40 (55)
World boss: 8 (63)
Weekly dornogal quest: 8? (71?)
Anniversary quests / intro reward: 18? (89?)
That’s all the ones I remember and even then it’s a bit fuzzy. There’s more than that though for sure.

The guest relation crates and quests give tokens for the first completions, you can get at least 20 from the 4 crates

I did the weeklies in the new zone, then the quests in the anniversary village.
From there I did Chromies thing a few times, part of the BRD LFR, Korrak’s, the originals and the 3 bosses in Tanaris.
Ended up with just over a 120 of them.
All in all I think I spent 6 hours on it over the course of the week.

For some whatever reason, the Tanaris quests are much lower compared to TWW content. You would think the event area have same amount of TWW content considering it’s the event.

Oh ye I forgot that chain / secrets gives a tonne. Easily over 100 in a couple hours then.

Just curious, does that only applies to 80s? I wasn’t sure if pre 80 can get the tokens…

I will try to do the quest chain in tanaris. Already did the world boss and most of the weeklies. So far up to 77 total, it’s really slow…
How is 77 in a week for content that’s here until January slow? You’re going to have bought everything and be wondering what to do.

You just do the content as often as possible. If you’re behind it may take an extra week or two
OP, you have so much time.
Stop being dragged into the frenzy, there is no panic now they’ve buffed the rewards.
Why did they turn the event into a (slow) grind? In past events you just showed up and got the goodies for the most part
This “grind X currency in order to celebrate” is new
