Their solution will just be to put guards at the instance portals and call it a day.
naw theres other areas that hunters are very strong like in av or any chokepoint in the game.

traps in combat only really buffed melee hunters, MM were already doing that.
heh av by the alliance base and all the way up to it on the path is nothing but 7 hunters all spamming traps and holding back 20+ horde. the bridge is nuts now.

btw you cant avoid the second trap if youre entangled by the first.
Put nuetral guards in bgs sounds like a solution
Solution is 2 fold:
Hunter traps that are activated get 30 second CD instead of 8
Hunter traps that are launched have a 2 second activation timer
Explosive Trap has about… 60% of the damage it has now.
Heavily incentivized war mode with all Normal servers
(That solves SOOO many issues)
he mentioned BRM pvp in the OP so that was what I was responding to. they are obviously oppressive in any choke or respawn point.
naw war mode can eat a big bag of poop.
something needs to be done about traps in general. the damage of explosive is insane and the traps need a 30+ second cd if launcher is equipped activation or not .
and the traps need to last alot shorter.
7 people being able to hold off 20+ people because of chokepoints is idiotic.
I haven’t seen any valid arguments against it.
(Just ones that are crab in a bucket “this is the way it’s been, deal”)
Shorter traps would be good too. (or ones that are hit with AoE fire being melted as counterplay… including by the hunter’s own explosive trap)

I was slow mount. (Howler is BiS and I’m not buying 2 100% mounts) So I wasn’t part of the tip of the spear often, I was killing LTs, Bal, and taking towers incase the rush got stopped.
But the few times I was up there and the rush got stalled, it was about 5 hunters.
Counter play to that for us was our shammies and warriors charging/Decoying into make the front line behind the trap and hoping to last long enough to force them back while the Main body advanced.
It was pretty much the same in reverse with Paladins and warriors when our hunters would be griefing their zerg.

That kills hunter PVE. Just put DR on entrapment and move some of the explosive trap initial damage to the DoT as it does almost nothing right now.

Anyway, from your perspective what (explicitly, precisely, exactly) is Warmode and how would it apply to Classic Era in any meaningful way?
From my perspective, Warmode sort of works for Retail because they design systems around it, have cross realm zones for it, incentives beyond just experience or honor for using it (skills), etc. and even still, I quit Retail when they removed PVP servers and forced everyone into Normal mode, simply because some people don’t actually understand what the PVP ruleset is.
Wouldn’t be the first time a class got wrecked in PvE for the sake of PvP. (RIP Rockbiter. You were misunderstood.)
As a Shaman… I would love DR on a lot of CC. I don’t think it would be popular in the rest of the classic classes.
