One of my go to alts is a shaman I have. How would ya’ll rate their performance in dragonflight? I’m not looking to be some mega pro mythic plus goer.
Is it still kinda ideal to be both Elemental / Resto so you don’t have to get a lot of extra gear pieces? Or is enhancement fun? I can’t recall playing enhancement in shadowlands so its been awhile.
DPS classes for Shaman are great and one of my favourite M+ classes when played well (double stun totem + high DPS means big pulls).
Resto shaman is kinda the Bear Druid of this expansion. It’s been made the sacrifice to make Preservation Evoker and Resto Druid strong.
If the goal is 2000 you’re fine though.
Enhancement is fun and doing really well.
Hmm not sure I have an extra weapon on this toon for enhancement but I’ll just grab quest stuff with the loot set to enhancement.

Shamans use a lot of heavy assets, because of totems and ghost wolf(s) and ascendsnce form, shields, weapon enchants, crap like that. Half the shaman races have horribly outdated low poly totems. Many of the particle effects are the same since like TBC. And most other things haven’t been changed since cata. Idk can’t speak for the others cause I quit playing shaman until SL came up and they got these new awesome looking spells, that were like some of the most visually impressive and fun spells in the game? And they were just yoinked right when patch 10.0 arrived when other classes got to keep up to 3 of their SL abilities. Shamans only got to keep necro. They got a couple new ghost wolf forms. Which is neat. I suppose. More would be nice but yeah ultimately it’s meaningless because ascendance form is still meta and it’s the same old generic cheap lava skull GUY costume for several xpacs now. Some people still like it. But most people don’t. Some people refuse to use it but in the state resto is in I feel like that can’t be good during some phases idk. Bu this just reflects the state of a lot of the spell effects. Haven’t had anything that adds more ghost animals to enhance since like. Raptors. And thats pretty much the only other one.
Class just needs massive help visually like. It’s in a totally pathetic place right now in terms of appearance options. But like I mentioned, that’s only one of the multitude of glaring problems resto has.
You can play one of the newer races. They have nice totems. That counts for something. I guess.
Enhance is really fun lots of button stuns interrupts but it is just to much in mythic plus raids are fun.
I cant watch where i am, where i need to go with the rotation because if you mess it up dps is wrecked. Then stun inturrupts add more to watching and not dodging
Class is fun if you like quick reaction lots of buttons for many situations
I dont think it is very mythic + friendly as too much going on but im just not good after reaching the +10 keys
