So how about that reputation bias?

People are complaining the reps are unfair. I played horde first then alliance. Started my alliance toon two weeks after hitting max level horde side. I hit exalted with 7th legion/honorbound on the same day. My horde toon is exalted with the Volduni and my allaince too is exalted with Mechagon. I don’t see the problem I have had the Mechagon rep since 13 days after the release of 8.2. I haven’t taken a break but I do play both sides. So I will have both allied races once they are released along with the Worgen heritage armor. (Won’t play a goblin because of being short. ) I will unlock both new races but will never play them for the same reason I won’t play Gnomes, dwarfs or goblins now. They are short.

Yeah, I too remember when Alliance Characters were forced through a raid to get their heritage armor…

Oh wait…

The problem, and complaints, isn’t that it’s hard… it’s the simple fact that 1 faction repeatedly gets reps that have been in the game since expansion launch, while the other has to grind new reps that were added with a late expansion zone.

It’s like if you were buying tickets to a concert and tickets were made available for purchase to 3 months before the concert to people 3 states over, but were only made available in your area 1 week prior.

It’s about the window of opportunity to grind the rep before the races are released. Horde has never had to deal with having the “new rep” it’s always been a rep that was available since expansion launch for horde. Alliance has gotten the “new rep” 3 times now.

It’s just something we have to spend more time on than the opposing faction. When you can do a whole zone’s worth of questing and call it a day with an achievement than going here, there and everywhere and then some for the same reward, it is a bit different :grimacing:

I noticed this when trying to unlock my KTs versus unlocking my Zandalari and it’s a weird discrepancy that I feel like has plagued the whole expansion that’s just snowballed into a faction war amongst the players for reasons unbeknownst to us of why this faction got two mounts shareable and the other faction only got one and it isn’t shareable. It’s been a weird expac for all.

i was actually thinking the same thing…shouldn’t be too hard to get rep with the rustbolt resistance, but then again, locking allied races behind a rep grind was pretty dumb in the first place…It’s turned off a few of my friends from coming back to the game when BFA first launched, that’s for sure.

Either way, I’m not going to be rolling either, just like i avoided the other allied races…so i don’t really care.

Only race I’d ever switch to at this point is Cenarion/Dryad if they ever came out.

When Argus was released, it was quicker to get to exalted with both reputations than it was with every other Legion Reputation, back when it was current content.

Here in BfA, it is much more faster to get exalted with Rustbolt Resistance than it is with Volduni.

In the end, if you want the races, but don’t want to put in the work to get them, then you get nothing.

someone’s jealous

If you were a new/returning player though, Rustbolt rep is much, MUCH faster than Voldunai rep, not to mention MANDATORY throughout the entirety of BfA for essences.

You’re also assuming people actually bothered doing Voldunai rep at the start of BfA or at all. Not everyone did, simply because other than cosmetics and recipes if your profession needed it, there was no real reason to. Rustbolt however, once again has the BiS essences for a majority of the specs, especially healers. If you were indeed a returning player, or a player who’s been playing at all the past few months, you WILL have had Rustbolt rep, but not necessarily Voldunai.

Like the OP?

Oh please… People had to get revered for flying alone, which is pretty much one of the main goals in this DLC sadly enough. You guys know PLENTY ahead now, you could probably do a few dailies a week and have your rep in time for the race.
I will have no issues grinding for it on my alliance.

People keep saying this but also like to ignore the fact that you had like FIVE months knowing the requirements of them before they were even in the game. They were announced at Blizzcon (October) and were added to the game in Spring (like April or something). Anyone not having them day one wasn’t paying attention or didn’t care.

It’s funny that I also just had the same conversation with my friends about this very same topic. OP isn’t wrong, it’s a valid point.

Most of my friends stopped playing retail for 6 months now or more. When they get back to playing they will have to grind out a new rep to unlock a new race. Something Horde won’t have to do at all given the same circumstances. This type of unfairness creates a sour conversation and motivates players that come back from a hiatus to simply quit again.

OP is making an argument for the players that aren’t here at the moment to voice their opinions, but will most certainly do so when they get back. It’s always best to be proactive than reactive right?

Mechagon is the second fastest BFA rep since it is 850+ rep a day compared to MAYBE 400. Voldunai can go weeks without an emissary since they are completely random.

If you aren’t playing horde why would you want the AR at all. This argument doesn’t make any sense.

I have the rep for the LFD/VE and have never unlocked them because I don’t play blue.

And someone only questing through voldun will BARELY be Honored. Assuming you start there and an Alliance starts at NEUTRAL with RR, they will hit exalted at almost the exact same time.

There are like 5 WQ up at a given time in Voldun which is 375 rep. Compared to the one 5 minute world quest on Mechagon that gives 850 rep they will catch up in no time. Also, that isn’t even considering the extra like 500 rep you can get a day from dailies/rares/events and whatever.

All this is moot. There should never have been a race locked, don’t care what silly adjective you throw in front of the word race to justify gating them, in the first place.

Especially if they’re going to continue to lock new races behind a lazily designed silly tedious time-gated world quest humping trickle grind that adds nothing to the story.

Did I quote the op?

Do I need to point out the irony of pointing out a single person’s “jealousy”, on a thread dedicated to Alliance jealousy of supposed Horde favouritism?

Do you need to? No, but if it makes you feel good about yourself go for it.

If they’re returning during BfA at all, Horde AND Alliance players alike would be doing Mechagon regardless for those BiS essences + flying anyway.

If they’re returning AFTER BfA, Mechagon rep will be several time faster to earn than Vol’dunai.

Seems like a win-win for Alliance here to me.
