So, Horde aligned Earthen?

Because they became Dwarves……and the earthen are their cousins

Again, arguing something that’s not being said

This shouldn’t be this damn hard to understand

I think the issue is that you insist on this without any indication as to why it is important or anyone should care.

People address it in context of the complaints about making them a neutral race. You just say that is not point. So what it the point? Is it just a piece of trivia? Or do you think it means something.

Did you change characters? Or just appearance.

Didn’t say you should care. But the lore is the lore. If you wanna ignore go it ahead.

The issue is just not only them having the look of dwarves but rather that a core component of the dwarf theme since vanilla is that they are all about learning about their ancestry with even their king returning to a earthen (even if special) state, the earthen is literally their ancestors.
It does not help that these new earthen have the exact same building and aesthetic style of playable dwarves that we never saw earthen use before, not to mention they’re riding gryphons. The favored flying mount of regular dwarves.

Even if in lore the earthen never were alliance, it’s literally a theme that been centered to the dwarves of the Alliance and a visual style that’s also core to it.

It would be like giving us neutral rock orcs that had not yet become flesh after breaking off as rock shards from the big rock construct. But still using typical orc visuals like wolf pelts, riding wolves and yelling Lok’tar Ogar. While technically not wrong in the lore it is a heavy horde thing.

If we’re lucky, one of the two Earthen factions is just going to be Deep Rock Galactic: Azeroth.

All of which is even more true of Void Elves. The Void Elves have the exact same history and culture. They even share relatives. And not only do the Void Elves have the build and aesthetic style as Blood Elves, they can look exactly like them.

Now I would have preferred a Horde equivalent. But Horde lore is so lacking, there isn’t one. The salt from some posters who don’t care that Blizzard has to go extra lengths to make the Horde even peripherally relevant, or who don’t care that they are only doing a fraction of what they did for Alliance when they demanded Blizzard give them “High Elves”, just feels like more Alliance self-entitlement.

At the very least the void elves have history in the Alliance and some kin with Alleria and the high elves. The earthen got none with the Horde.
That said I think it’s regarded by everyone that the void elves are a mess and just because they’ve screwed up before, does not mean that we should just accept when blizzard messes up again. Otherwise we would not be allowed to have any lore complaints after shadowlands.

“Here at Blizzard, us being a small indie company, we’ve been forced to cut our staff from the ‘Things Our Customers Want’ department, and transfer half of the freed-up funds to our ‘Things No One Ever Asked For Or Wanted’ department and the other half to our ‘Lining Our Own Pockets’ department.”

The Blood Elves have kin with the “High Elves”. The blood Elves are High Elves. The Void Elves are former Blood Elves.

The Earthen have no relationship with the Alliance.

Yes, the Void Elves are a mess. Because Blizzard when out of their way to take something from a Horde race to give to the Alliance. For the Earthen they were just in a corner because they have so little development of the Horde.

But many Alliance posters don’t care what they have gotten, they just want everything their way.

Exactly. You understand me.

Might be missing some context to this conversation, but the Khaz Algar Earthen ARE actually noted to be similar by the Observational Report: Earthen from DF Uldaman.

“In the course of their duties, these earthen began to manifest behaviors analogous to those which one would one day be apparent in the self-styled dwarves, despite the two groups being separated by vast swaths of time and distance.” - Page 3

“Yet while their behaviors, language, and demeanor show many similarities (for example, assigning Sector AR-938 the colloquial name “Khaz Algar”), physiologically the two groups remain distinct.” - Page 4

Thanks for the info. But the conversation was basically some people trying to say that the earthen weren’t pre curse dwarves

It was weird :blush::+1:

I’m pretty sure that Blizzard has done what every other roleplaying company not mired in the 1970’s has done… in other words shoved alignment overboard as the antiquated simplistic and stifling mechanic it is.
