I can already sense Drede trying to come up with some copium or denial.
Yeah it exists in Blood/Void elf customizations.
We don’t need yet another elf race.
only Thalassian should be spoken in Silvermoon, and just have a void elf quarter. only Thalassian speakers are allowed in the city. not truly neutral, more like we are tolerated as long as we dont go near the sunwell
i would enjoy hanging out with the other cool elves.
Not yet, it just takes 2-3 actions for that to happen and then it happened. Everything can be justified if the writer wants.
You are putting in question loyalties in case of a war, I gotta say it will be dealt within the writing, so whatever you’re trying to imply here is simply not going to happen.
It is a fact.
It JOEVER.
I want all the thalassian elves to be welcomed, at least to some degree.
High Elves have been suggested to be returning to their people for a long time.
It’s why they should imo give players a name plate for blood elves and void elves cause both sides have high elf story. I just happen to prefer the story that sees some returning to Silvermoon.
You are already contradicting yourself. If Blzzard wants high elves added they will add whatever reason they want.
Abd this current story beat does not imply the high elves are all now loyal citizens of Silvermoon.
Yeah we knew that but now we have an official lore source confirming that they are back to Quel’Thalas rebuilding Silvermoon, something that the naysayers have been denying for so long.
The fact that Arator is allowed to join the blood knights definitely implies a level of devotion and loyalty to Silvermoon.
And Arator is also son of two faction leaders of the Alliance. Who do you think he will side with if the faction wars were to return?
You’re making things up. Make your own thread to discuss your what ifs
That’s what I meant… it took blood elves what, 10-20 years to start rebuilding? When humans and even orcs (orcs!!!) took less to rebuild their ruins? XD
And you are making up lore that high elves are now somehow all loyal to Silvermoon. When we know that isnt even the case considering there are other high elven groups.
Yeah, I am not seeing him choosing Silvermoon over his literal parents.
Not that it’s gonna happen though. It’s clear to me the faction conflict is over.
Which side do you think he’ll choose if the faction conflict ever threatened Silvermoon, and the Sunwell? His brothers-in-arms among the Blood knights, and all the citizens he’s come to know in Silvermoon? You think he’ll take arms up against his own people? Do you think even Alleria would allow that to happen if it came down to it?
That would stoke the fire in the heart of every High elf and Blood elf in Azeroth against the alliance if they ever tried it. Life in Silvermoon seems peaceful, and prosperous once again, they’re all rebuilding and looking to the future, even Alleria saw this, you think she or Arator would ever join a campaign to destroy it again?
Why do you think he’s defending his homeland in the first place? He could’ve remained in Stormwind, but he considers it his life and duty now to protect Silvermoon, and judging from what we saw of him in the short story, it is not a duty I see him shirking off even if the faction conflict returned.
Well tbh they were fighting back the scourge in Ghostlands for years, the Dead Scar has been there and the scourge was still heavily present in the kingdom.
Quel’Thalas was a huge kingdom, remember that out of almost 148.000 people, the total elf population is merely close to 12.000 now. I think it is understandable that it would take some time, especially that the “reunion” took also many years to happen (after MoP).
Read the novel
Official lore btw.
That depends on who starts the conflict wont it? We have seen the high elves take up arms against the Horde to defend their allies multiple times.
The high elves have taken up arms against the blood elves when they decided to help Sylvanas. If the Horde ever followed such a path again I think he would do so without a second though.
I would also point out Arator is a child of humanity as well. If the blood elves or the Horde treatened humanity, he would probably help them.
Here we go.
One character living there (Who is not part of any High Elf group) is not an indication of entire groups leaving their homes and going to live in a place that rejected several times.
Most of the current High Elf groups left after the Second War and rejected Silvermoon’s order to return.
The Silver Covenant is would be shunned and treated as war criminals. (To be fair they did commit Warcrimes)
Quel’danil Lodge rejects all Arcane Magic and would shun Silvermoon.
Allerian Stronghold are followers of Alleria and would likely be joining her in Exile or becoming Void Elves.
That said we have the literal Alliance leader, a Human just going there for a causal visit. It’s safe to say Silvermoon is more than accepting of Alliance at this point and even if they don’t live they, it’s likely that they can visit often now. Baring the exceptions above.
Lor’themar has always been the most pro Alliance/Horde Peace leader next to Thrall so it makes more than a little sense for Silvermoon to be the most welcoming city to Alliance members.
But that doesn’t mean that High Elves are suddenly and magically going to disappear as separate groups or as Alliance entities.
I don’t even know who you are lol
I do enjoy being a boogiemen.
Never have they coordinated to attack their own homeland, even Vareesa and the Silver Covenant came to the call of the Blood elves to help defend their land.
The high elves did? I don’t remember ever seeing any High elf squads in BfA do you?
Doubtful, it wouldn’t make sense to even write this and place him in Silvermoon if that were the case. It’s clear how he’s being written, joining the ranks of the Blood elves, living among them. If you think the High elves would ever join a campaign to destroy their homeland than that’s some serious copium haha
That’s how i feel too, i don’t atp understand the neutral allegations bcz while yes it will function for people, it’s still a horde capital the way gilneas is, which horde players have access to like we’re guests at best.
The implications for high elf role players is nice too.
