Hunters too, depends on dungeon. For Mists I’d take hunter, for Plaguefall usually warlock for banish.
You have never played a BM… We can have near continuous AoE from our pets. You put out two pets, set the stomp talent (both pets stomp), use multi-shot (both pets cleave AoE), and have that gimmicky legendary with the flare in a tar trap…

Uhh sure. I don’t watch specs, just invite a hunter half the dungs. Maybe some were BM, but most top dps ones I see are MM.

Tanks are broken imo. Tanks can easily do as much if not more damage than dps. Nobody liked playing tanks so Blizz has been upping there dps so more people play them. Plus warriors have it bad atm.
Halls of Atonement? Let me guess, the shades come out and nobody stops what they’re doing to kill them. Simple mechanic your group seemed to fail. You can’t taunt the shades. They will go after a random player. Maybe you as a tank don’t have a problem, but a dps will take ~25% of their health every hit if the shade gets to them. Especially a melee dps, they have to kite while others kill. Your heals must have been real happy with you guys lol

I remember when I start raiding MC years ago - I was Demo lock at the time. My guild wanted me to go Destro if I remember correctly.

I have Kyrian, but it does some initial AoE damage. Benefit is plus crit chance when all those extra AoEs are going off. But good point! NF does some good AoE too.
Don’t do that…if you like BM you should stay BM. Maybe you need some slight tweaks to your talents, gear, or rotation, but BM is fine in dungeons and raid tbh
while we were grinding arenas first week it came out on our toons we can across a survival hunter. this was around 1500+ rating. And that was when rogues were one shotting folks on openers peeling them like a can of tuna. And we laughed and said oh nice…a survival hunter, easy mark. ez win. he topped dps and charts and made us look like total idiots. It was pretty funny. So i think all specs are fairly viable. obviously some are pruned better than others. but if your comfy and good at your chosen spec you can make it work in any situation.
Your DPS must be bad, almost every trash pack the DPS I roll with pull 5k at least, I don’t know any tank that can hit that without blowing all their CDs.
Oh I’m not worried so much about my damage. I was in the top three dps this week in raid and parsed a 97% on a new boss.
As far as M+ I burst 12k+ every two minutes and average 4-6k the rest of pulls. The only place I really seem to have troubles are on cleave. I don’t know why but when its two targets I fall behind almost everyone.
Well that and a group I was in today for a +5 mist were things died so fast that I was doing half the damage as anyone else. To be fair though the tank was pulling 10k on most trash pulls.

Yes, hunter is not the meta atm. This is why I say all classes and specs should have some sort of balance.
My point, average tank damage can be same or higher than average dps. Sure, get a mage or chicken in there and they’ll do a ton more, but tanks can easily compete with most dps…except warriors lul

Yeah…tanks are silly.
Seems you’re doing fine though. I think cleave is more important when there is a bigger group. Sure rip off a multi-shot here and there to ping the other guy when there or 2-3 trash, but maybe not as big a deal. I find myself always counting to 4 in dungeons lol

Just to be clear I wasn’t using your as in you directly, just the broad stroke of your M+ teams. Though I find it upsetting how you are backing down so fast after saying how good BM DPS is for +.

unless you’re going for super high M+ pushing or M raiding (and even then there’s some leeway since more people are involved) being the absolute hot spec really isn’t needed for anything
play what you have fun with and sooner or later it’ll get a buff

Oh no…don’t get me wrong. BM is good for M+, but it’s not the best. Hunter is not the “best” for any situation. I do decent dps, but tanks can still out dps me…especially a good prot pally.

People apparently crap on frost DK’s, but as a frost dk I’ve never been told to change my spec or been kicked out of a group because of my spec. NOw that I think of it I’ve never been treated badly because of the spec I play.
Besides nerfs are going to happen. So just relax & wait for them because there’s always a few classes over tuned at the beginning of an expansion.
Blizz, please nerf shaman and priest heals in PvP…thx
