So guess it's time to deal with the Purge

Or we go with the current setup of not bringing it up and just moving on. Where even Lother’mar visits Brennedam(and blames Sylvanas for not mentioning how deep the attrocity was to the rest of the Horde) , even potentially staying there for their honeymoon, and both of them sharing a “sadness”. That both of them understand they made morally questionable choices for what they thought was needed for their people.

Did that happen? Or is it just an idea?

Justice for Theramore!
Garrosh dead

Justice for Teldrassil!
Nathanos dead, Sylvanas exiled to Hell

Justice for the Sunreavers/Zandalar!
… “listen, we’ve all made mistakes.

Every frkn time.

Yes it did:

Lor’themar runs into Jaina and reflects on their fraught history. But he’s made an effort to “build bridges” these past eight years and they hang out for a bit. There’s actually a mutual “sadness” to their parting that Thalyssra remarks upon in her postscript, and I take as a sad commentary for other reasons, but enough said…

Ok the mutual sadness seems open to intepretation but I am taking it as “mutual sadness” at their shared experience and empathy toward each other for the choices each have made.

Isn’t that the opposite of “not bringing it up”?

that is exactly the opposite of not briging it up

Apparently not based on WoWHead’s summary. The “past mistakes” are dealing with Thalen’s research into the mana bomb and Kel’thuzad’s research into necromancy. Unless I missed it, I didn’t see a reference to the Purge.

Kel’thuzad at least makes sense as a regret of Dalaran. He would go on to be a global threat alongside his master the Lich King.

I think its like 20 years too late to start having regrets about him, they did everything short of killing him

They can still regret how they handle the whole situation.

The quest reveals he had an entire pocket dimension under their noses to do his research undisturbed after they declared it illegal. Missing that and having him go on to do everything he did is a pretty big failing on their part.

Not bringing it up in the sense of “hey I want to apologize Brennedam, because we Hordies decided to go on a slaughter in your city”.

Lother’mar was there but this wasnt exactly some topic of conversation/an attempt to right an old wrong.

I mean if you want Jaina to ask for forgiveness the Horde would have to do a hundred fold at this point for their attrocities.

And also confirmation that Dalaran is “truly gone for good” (at least under the current writing team), as one of the ultimate decisions is pretty much a vow to never rebuild Dalaran again with basically a Viking funeral for the city ( :dracthyr_shrug:), and to let the city remain firmly in the past.

In other words, it’s about as predictable as you can possibly imagine as it’s the writers wanting to explore what it would be like if Dalaran is gone forever and the heroes must rely on other things to defend Azeroth with, as well as the fact that the Purge of Dalaran’s never getting mentioned or acknowledged ever again just like some of the lore surrounding Deathwing.

It also would not be surprising IMO if around ten years down the road or so someone decides to bring back Dalaran because “iconic city LOL,” basically like what happened when Blizzard decided to basically end dragons in Cataclysm because reasons.

They mention if the Forge of the Guardian survived?

You killed everyone involved with brennadam but Sylvanas, and she’s in hell.
You’re bad at this.

There is nothing to suggest everyone who did participate in Brennadam was killed. You are the one who keep making your own head canon. And ultimately this was an act of war the Horde(if not fully knowing the carnage) did participate/support. Regardless of civilian casualties.

Having quested through Brennadam, I’m like 99% convinced it was just a N’zoth fueled mass hallucination. Poor Rexxar still hasn’t recovered. He is still looking for the Tide Pearl, I hear.

My benighted son.

Do you not see the blue background behind my human character?
Are you somehow under the enfeebled and ignorant impression that I somehow do not do Alliance quests on my Alliance character?

You kill the folks at Brennadam.
You kill the leader of the raid in Brennadam.

Then you didnt do the quest. The Alliance at best managed to rout out the invaders and halt the advance. There is nothing saying they somehow managed to wipe them all out and considering the Horde managed to keep their position in Stormsong is a testement to that. Even after the questline is finished the Horde is still there attacking.

The only feeble thing around here are your eyes.

Attacks from the Horde in Stormsong Valley would continue on Brennadam Square throughout the war, though the invaders were always contained and prevented from taking the rest of Brennadam.
