two things have kept me from wanting to progress in this game.
Firstly…rancid player behavior. It was horrible end of legion and only got worse early BFA so I stopped bothering with it. I have a VERY short fuse and people getting cussed out in the chat box over petty mistakes had my teeth grinding and forcibly controlling myself to keep from lashing out at the perpetrator and leaving emotional scars.
The second was someone pretty much repeating what many say in here…a lot of groups wont let you into their content unless you have addons X, Y and Z installed.
I looked at a few of those addons, said hell no, and that was the final straw that made me a casual dont-care-about-anything sort of player back then.
The first cant really be fixed…rancid people bring themselves into the game.
But the second CAN be fixed…which bliz seems to be willing to at least try to remedy
so if they tone the mechanix down enough that those addons ARENT being required for a group to let me run with them, now maybe Im interested in giving M+ a shot.
Im not scared of the content. My reflexes are pretty damned good for a 60 year old man. I can keep up well enough in other games, Im sure I’ll be just fine in M+…i just dont want the addons required to get into a group…and no Im not bothering with ‘make your own group’ lol…I dont care to do the stuff enough to waste time figuring that out. loll
Personally speaking, this is a great thing Ion and crew are doing and yeah, i WANT it to go well so maybe the game comes to the point that NO addons are required for high end play, just our own mental and physical abilities…like ALL games should be.
This is the typical response from nearly ALL the pro weak aura people and so I am seeing a pattern.
When we say we look forward to changes or yeah we should let them know we wants this or that in the game YOU people freak out and just personally attack us.
So I can’t wait for the changes because I hope all the toxic spreadsheet humper elitest leave the game so it can finally heal from all this toxicity.
That is exactly the same dismissive and condescending response I’m seeing fro bad people who hide behind low level characters who can’t show up their progress and that they’re just lying through their teeth.
You don’t pug, you don’t care. You’re just bad and you want everyone to be as bad as you are without these addons.
But guess what: you’ll continue being bad, mediocre.
Others will adapt.
Remember. But you already know it. I don’t have to tell you. Deep inside you know that.
I like the idea, but I still need some audio cues, I pray they are taking these things into consideration. I already spend 8 to 12 hrs a day in front of a computer, I don’t wanna go blind squinting at every boss cast bar as well. GTFO was great for that, Interrupt say, things of that nature. I REALLY hope this type of thing is in the cards. I’d like to make time for alfa, but the busiest time of the year is coming for my industry too. prays Please Blizz, I know you want to make the game more approachable, but don’t forget the folks that have been here to two decades.

agreed, im so tired of having content be made harder solely to appeal to weakauras and combat addons, no thank you. them players can throw a tantrum if they want but this is the healthiest route for the game
Why are you tired if you don’t even get any closer to that content, in fact you stay in your lane that is 3 levels below anything that requires those addons.
Ive read in here 1000 times posts saying that either the poster requires the addons…or the group they tried to get into required them.
This thread and many like it LITERALLY has posts arguing against removing the addons, friend…so tell this crap to someone who might be naive enough to believe it
I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure that they will not dumb down the content to the point that you don’t need coordination.
I think pug is dead. Not sure what I’ll be running in Midnight, but for sure, I’ll have to play with the same people. I mean, I can, it just takes more effort to coordinate everyone’s schedule, you can’t simply go away when you want and when you need because you have to be considerate to your team mates. Lots of freedom that you lose.
Some people can accept the trade off. Others don’t.
uh…because many of us dont want to play content that we’re told to install the addons for?
remove the addons and make the content so we dont need them or are asked to install them…maybe we’ll hop in and try it out

Go to the Group Finder right now and find me one Key listing that requires any addon? I’ll wait.
Raids are different because of the scripted nature it makes it easier for a PUG group to all have DBM since it’s likely no one will be on comms but that’s it.
