So fyrakk is the Final boss of DF?

is 10.2 the final patch of this xpac? I tho Galakrond was supposed to be the final boss of Dragonflight.

The emerald dream is the last raid of this expansion, and fyrakk is the last boss. We will be getting more content but outsides of raids, this is it for the expansion.

Galakrond would be a technical nightmare as a boss. Deathwing fight is a very hated fight by majority of players and Galakrond was much much bigger than him.

If I remember correctly the biggest reason Deathwing was hated was due to the spine of deathwing fight. It was awful and still awful as a transmog run. On top of that people were expecting actually going toe to toe with Deathwing like any other boss and not just “parts of him”.

And Galakrond as actual size is indeed huge. He can eat adult proto drakes in one bite. He could probably eat any of the aspects in 1-2 bites including Deathwing thats just how big this beast was. Like you’re looking close to the scale of Nzoth where most of nzoth’s actual body was sky art because he as an old god is just to big. So it wouldn’t be the fight that the community would be imagining / hyped. It would be something either similar to deathwing, or some vital part. Would never be a full scale size.

There wont be any meaningful content for a year until the next expansion. Just a few recycled things, one or 2 super-shorts quest chains and recycled “fated” raids.

There’ll be even less overall content in the next 3 shortened (but still full box price) expansions. I’m sure there will be plenty of recycled “fill the bar” world quests and rares to kill though.

Meaningful content is in the eye of the beholder. I find raids to be a massive waste of money and development time. But its meaningful content to a lot of players. If you live as a raid or die then yes, this is the end of the line, time to unsub and come back in fall 2024.

You’re allowed to think that, even if objectively wrong.

I would say wrong in a clash of opinions. Statistically the amount of people who have been completing normal-mythic raids has lessened as time gone by. I’m waiting to see how far the number falls with emerald dream. We’re getting close to just having less than 10,000 players doing mythic raids. In a mmorpg thats supposed to “have over a million subs” thats a big yikes.

Also Ion has claimed that the 3 expansions will get the same amount of content as all the other expansions before in a interview with preach. The content will just be put out faster.

Blizzard is doing what people have been asking for, for some time and what other games are doing - pushing the story forward without necessarily having to tie it into a raid tier every single time.

wouldn’t be shocked if this was a fight the aspects would finally do something and be attacking his head/distracting him and we would fight like a giant boil under his chest or something then climb inside to fight a twisted void corrupted heart or some space squid thing and fight that.

Something among that scale is probably exactly what would happen. And a lot of the community would be upset too because they weren’t going toe to toe with the beast.

true: but if he drops an axe the shape of his head i might be ok with this…strokes chin where are those gnomes I kidnapped for my shrink ray gun project.

It was both.

We scratched his back and then clipped his toenails and beard.

The final “boss” part was ok, wasn’t the epic show down i imagined either but as a normal fight with the mechanics it was fun / interesting. Though there was a bug that caused you to not get boosted to the next island causing you to fall to your death. That really pissed off a lot of people lol.

That isn’t what he said if you pay attention to what he said - he’s very good at misleading. The only thing they have confirmed is the content in the initial patch and have said nothing about how many raid tiers, dungeons etc are coming in future patches (and how many patches there will be).

Based on their current trajectory of maximum recycle, minimum effort it doesn’t look promising.

That’s primarily because blizzard have converted the game into M+ or die. They’ve made M+ the easiest, best and primary gearing source so raid participation is dropping as people flock to the easier content.

Mythic raids are pretty pointless for most players, but they are just reusuing normal/heroic so not really a waste.

I didn’t hate deathwing fight. I didn’t particularly love it, but I thought it was overall an interesting fight with different stages and a unique, tight playing floor. That and the jumping out of the airships, etc. I recall at the time it was much easier than the LK had been.

It was some people’s guess. But no.

It should have been Galakrond (not that most people would care about that either) but see the writers are lame.

Did you not do the megadungeon?

Technically we did go toe to toe with him.
