There are at least 10 afterlives depicted or mentioned in game. The case of Bwonsamdi, in particular, seems to prove that a sufficiently powerful entity can send a part of the souls to their specific afterlife.
Imagine how detached from reality one has to be to believe that a person could read Harry Potter, then find a unicorn, phoenix, or some other magical creature to craft a wand.
This is why it’s hard to take people on gd who complain about the story seriously. It seems they tend to not pay attention to the quest text/dialog from npcs in game.
The beauty of being a dh. We deposited our souls like you would for a coke bottle for like 5 cents on the way to get a fel make over.
we don’t see these knuckleheads ever again after this expac. the twisting nether…this place made that option look damn good really.
Void elves? yeah…our lore is not solid. But…I think n’zoth wants us back at the end. and to me that ain’t sounding so bad. any place where alleria beats her husband down till he is dead…can’t be all bad.
See this is what I’m talking about. The kind of casual rampant misogyny in the player base. There’s a demographic of players who love to hate on female characters and put male characters on a pedestal.
Off topic by quite a bit but seems you’ve set your narrative.
For arguments sake, let’s say the entire male population of the Earth is misogynist and consider women as lesser citizens. What exactly would the fallout be if that information were to be made public? I’m genuinely curious to know.
Ardenweald pretty much is… it’s a giant forest for Druids and Hunters, pretty much a giant wilderness full of Tauren since the Night Elves either turn into wisps or get carried off by Elune.
I mean, we’ve seen like… 6 afterlives of thousands? Who’s to say they DON’T?
The realms of Light aren’t even in the Shadowlands, so again can we really say anything about who is or isn’t there?
The first cinematic showing the Arbiter shows you the numerous gateways to other afterlives. They just dropped the ball on showing us any of them. I kept thinking the content patches would be going to others, or do it like the legion gateway things, little forays into a small portion of them…nope.
We only visit the 4 pillars of the Shadowlands. The realms that play the biggest role in keeping it running…that and the hell analog.
Far as I understand, Zereth Mortis also contains the machine that creates these infinite afterlives as needed.
I remember mention of one that felt gnomish as it was like a clockwork paradise, is that the same one?
My main question is why does the anima stream still reach out from Oribos to the gates to the 4 realms when it’s cut off in the cinematic…oversight?
What we see is the working end of the Shadowlands. Not the possibly infinite realms that souls are sorted to when the system is working correctly. That’s why we aren’t running into past lore figures all the time.
Honestly, it doesn’t change anyones religion or belief system at all. The spirit of those that past on is still intake they have shed their memories of the past and have moved on to where we can only guess.
