So engineers kinda get screwed this xpac, hey?

The flipside is that the legendary market is about the only thing propping up some of those professions.

  • Inscription? No new glyphs. Need new tomes, but those don’t seem to be popular right now.
  • Enchanting? “Let loot be loot” means that you don’t replace your gear often, so no need for frequent enchants.
  • Jewelcrafting? Low gear replacement and even sparser sockets make it almost worthless.
  • Armor crafting? The gear is pretty much useless by the time you can craft it, unless you focus solely on that, and even then it won’t last long. And the 165 armor is locked behind a month-long rep grind.

I used a guide to get my engy to max and then i put the gadget on my belt and um. I haven’t really clicked the profession button ever again.

Not to mention some of the bfa engineering crafts are broken right now doing insane dmg. A very good reason everyone involved in the wfr had engineering as a profession

The legendary economy you’re talking about is non existent for nearly all professions. You make very little profit from it if any at all. Most professions are actually broken. Nearly everything sells below material cost to make whatever it is being crafted.

I’m sure there are some niche recipes, but in general you’re almost always better just selling the materials on the AH.

looks at my SL teleporter, which includes a free oribis HS
What are you on about mate? Eng is great right now, sure we dont have our goggles yes but i can see that coming down the pipe soon.

IMO I think blizzard should give ENG a set of goggles that let us put any legendary effect on them if we want to.

Engineers got screwed? What’re you talking about? We can use engineering on dead mechanical mobs and be rewarded with an item that sells for 4 COPPER. :upside_down_face:

honestly? this would be amazing. I would gladly trade my wormhole generator for something like this

BIG agree. I would love to see at some point a cohesion between all professions. Imagine if other professions needed disposable parts only an engineer could make and an engineer needed enchanted or inscribed parts for things they could make. Imagine if ammo were a thing again, or if scopes and other enhancements were temporary so you had to restock. Imagine if we could tinker one-time-use (or multiple time use) items for other classes. Imagine a whole set of interesting toys that people could get like telescopes again, or stealth bots. Lets just create some lil things that are MINORLY useful but fun to have, imagine if you could buy a mining machine that lasted 7 days which let you mine ore instantly with 1 click. What about a more fun gadget idea; a one time use frontal shield that you can pull out (with a considerable cooldown) that would let you block damage from a specific direction, but you cannot move or act while holding the shield for 4 seconds or something.

OH what about being able to craft toys and fun items for christmas, like hopping pups or appearance items with limited duration. They could have a set for things like christmas and birthdays and other major holidays. Imagine customized fireworks. Imagine prank gift boxes that can hold an item inside like wrapping paper but would explode and make the target look singed for an hour or something.

The toy and gadget system is great for engy’s currently, but the fact that only engys can use them is what destroys it. If they want to tune the stuff so its even less effective, thats fine, but make it so that you can make and sell these things to other players. Players will buy things if they’re fun enough to use, even if useless.

Here’s a fun idea you can use against the opposite faction. You can craft an angry lil robot and then deploy it at your target. It will waddle towards them and then when it gets to them, insult them with a rude gesture and explode for like 10 damage or something and give them a debuff “player-name has said you are the son of a motherless ogre”

I mean when you get into it you can probably think of so many fun lil whacky ideas of toys to make that people will want to buy just to have fun with.

Sorry this is unrelated (love that idea too) but also, wormhole generators should have limited charges and be able to sell to non engy’s and instead of just transporting the one who uses it, make a portal just like a mage portal that can move multiple people (i think it only lets one person through right? or am i wrong). This would be another really good thing engy’s would make money on
