A downsized arts department to resize armor assets for other classes?
Due to their decision when it came to the fantasy of the race and class. They even said they might add some classes later in the future but that this is the idea for the time being.
But go off I guess?
lol we tried that with Covenants.
Guess they can’t learn.
Seriously, it’s a ridiculous and unfriendly race, even the DH showed that only with 2 races you could for more races in future expansions as happened now with the DK.
I don’t know how much hype there is about a race that doesn’t naturally identify with a true dragon in Warcraft games as it was shown and feared, apart from its thin lizard outfit and without better customization, I see that its class is not going to be very relevant or even to admire him as an evoker.
Worse as an evoker, other games preferred to put the I instead of the E and be an Invoker that summon monsters or defeat bosses like in Final Fantasy.
Or in case everyone wanted to not be a caster, but a melee Dragon Knight that would transform into a powerful dragon, there is not another cheap copy of the Worgen that humiliates another race in vain.
Covenants were entirely different than this situation.
Now granted, there are lots of the Dracthyr I’m not happy with (Visage form being the main gripe). But for the time being, I’m not too upset about it. I mean it’s no different than DHs having no other option, it’s just race and class restricted now.
I don’t at all think it’s what the OP claims it to be.
I expect them to add more. The reason for now (Lore wise) is Dracthyr just woken up for the first time in a loooong time. What they have known isn’t readily learned, same for their visage form choice (Lack of, which also I expect more choices…)
Though right now, based on technical reasoning is they just are taking the lazy route. They sure went all out on customizations but they didn’t want to go and make sure on getting armor to fit snugly and correctly…
We just need to put pressure on them to make sure that they MUST do this. Its a poor excuse that “Dracthyr is Evokor and Evoker is Dracthyr” Its one thing to have one class specific to one race but its a nightmare to have one race stuck with class.
You’re right.
It was probably a decision driven by greed, then actually giving more to the player on DFs release.
Eh, probably more likely. But they’re also doing a lot of revamping to the other classes so maybe they just didn’t have time to figure out animations for the other classes for Dracthyr. ![]()
Either way, I guess continue your Blizzard rage, hope that makes you feel better.
You’d expect Blizzard being in the position to more easily give us more classes.
Unless everyone in the low end departments recently walked out on the company without telling us…or the people who could actually do it quickly and practically have also walked.
They just mean the story. Once Dragonflights over lore wise they said there would be other classes.
All Dracthyr know for now is being evokers. They’ll get obviously curious about us mortals and wanna learn things later
My issue is even a demi-dragon isn’t stupid enough to not use a melee weapon…so there should be some Warriors around at least.
reasons.
but mostly my guess not enough devs. or blizz just being lazy give bear bones and thinking customers will be happy.
They were built to mostly be magic super soldiers. Let em discover they have lots of potential later
There is definitely some effect limited resources have on the game when creating a new class + expansion. You just can’t do everything all at once.
I don’t think it’s the armor though. I’d guess it’s probably things like class specific animations, like Warrior/Monk/Hunter Weapon specials, that prevent them from launching with multiple classes. Casters are probably easier to do but even in that case you have to animate things correctly. Which takes time and resources they clearly didn’t have in the case of DF. The time table on this thing has just been crazy brief.
Given the state of our current classes? Hah, I think you’re expecting way too much right now. Blizzard has to basically fix the current 36 classes in addition to adding the two new ones. After six years of borrowed power systems, the base classes have been reduced to virtually nothing. They’re rebuilding all of them without borrowed power in mind, which will set the game up for success in the long run even if it feels bad right now.
With this team?
You forgot your lmao OP
Ain’t like we’re getting another team. Dragonflight is their chance to prove themselves, so we’ll have to see what they can create with no more borrowed power.
Not to mention how poor the gear design is since BfA after 8.1.
There really is little to be desired in this new expansion, not even putting ducks will help if this expansion is its disgusting Tailisin hopium.
Pss… with Druids multibots and again Rogues and Pallys op’s, and they provide themselves, it’s time to return to the true success of WoW, which is the WotLK classic, maybe it won’t be the same but that’s up to you players nostalgic to vanilla and pirate server players who were left alone in that expansion.
I’d probably finally quit the game if Retail played like Classic, even up to WotLK. The game was fun back then, but I can’t go back. It’s there for folks who like the Classic feel, but I much prefer the QOL updates of Retail.
