But it wasn’t! All three of the people who wore the helm were considered failures to Zovaal, because they refused to listen to him and shut him out.
It’s the only evidence we have that the Jailer can screw up his own plans.
Which is still sad. lol

I’m not even trying for ZM. Too much content I don’t enjoy to even get there. Well, I might be able to on a couple of alts, but I’m just not interested in it.
I have pretty much quit playing on this account. Right now, I’m goofing around on a second goof around account. lol
Currently haveing fun leveling up a couple of DH’s (Vengence and Havoc.) Taking my time, just doing content I enjoy and ignoring what I don’t enjoy. I don’t have SL purchased on that account, so lvl 50 will be it. And that’s fine.
I’m planning to hit lvl 50, finish or start and finish BfA once I complete Legion. Currently doing things I never did when Legion was out so that’s fun. (Real life interferred.) Then I’m heading backwards… Outland, Northrend, Pandaria…
Zovaal, The Jailor…
Here’s a thought.
Where did Zovaal earn the title of The Jailor from?
I get that he likely jailed souls into the Maw.
Who said this title? Why did he accept it?
When did he decide he wanted to reshape reality so that all were only able to worship him? Why?
From where did Zovaal arrive at this line of thinking?
Why was he chained up? Who did said chaining?
I mean…
Even if ALL of the above is in a book?
WHY wasn’t it all made and put into the game?
JUST to make sure none of us got lost story wise?
…
I mean…
Danuser went from crayons to fingerpaints with 9.1, thanks to another user.
What’s this new one, playdoh?
Sheesh…
Some of it is in game. The rest is probably in the Sylvanas book, which apparently goes into her relationship with the Jailer.
Books should be side stories, not main story. It’s crap.
it will be revealed on the new book they gonna write just fork a few 20 dollar bills and youl know .
I may have not fully liked Islands and Warfront. But I thought they showed a lot of potential for future content. WoW desperately needs something really big for 10.0. More Shadowlands time gating and static game systems that are designed maintain player numbers over fun isn’t going to be very successful.
Lore is lore.
All lore should also exist in game.
<Insert Mr. Incredible’s “Math is math!” image here.>
Said lore should already be in game.
And, to type it, Blizzard does choose to fail at the, “Show, don’t tell,” premise of games.
Sylvanas spoke. That’s basically a telling of a story.
Blizzard should have shown us both Sylvie’s history as well as an actual Arthas, along with some final words for Anduin, who literally just met him, Jaina, and especially Uther.
Uther TRAINED Arthas! SAW him start to fall…
And that he couldn’t catch him and stop Arthas from the path he was set upon, was key.
This “lore” is utter trash.
Thanks for spitting on your predecessors’ work, new Blizzard.
Ahahaha same, whenever something stupid happens and then someone else makes a comment on what should have happened instead (which usually ends up being great) I force my mind to pretend that happened instead
Becoming increasingly hard these days though HAH
^^^^^ Completely agree
Common core isn’t math. its an art class with rules.
draw boxes. now more boxes…now more boxes. this just to multiply 7 times 6. 1 minute of drawing…for a few second head memory recall calculation.
Apparently you don’t know the reference.
That’s exactly Mr. Incredible’s issue with Common Core.
I think it’s okay to have some side character in some random zone end up on some adventure in a book that doesn’t have anything to do with the expansion storyline.
ZM is not that great with alts with the weekly quest resetting each week instead of continuing like the 1,000 anima weekly and the Korthia weekly.
Also the new world boss I killed with my 20 level 60 alts this week and equipment loot only dropped for one and it was a waist that will soon be a leggo. Does loot come out of these guys checks or what?
While partially true…
When the entire idea of an MMORPG is immersion into another world through a character…
Leaving ANYthing out is literally a bad idea.
Players should be more playing an interactive movie through their character.
The story and game play should be as close to one and the same as is possible.
While the story and lore are different, the entire reason the MCU is popular is that characters are presented as people. I, and in general, we, as an audience, can SEE the who, what, when, where, how, and why.
This is almost entirely absent from WoW.
And I for one think that WoW should earn the respect of the players by treating them as friends visiting, rather than customers playing, said game.
I’m the opposite, I wish I had more time to play, and I like ZM. This latest cinematic was pretty good to be honest.
I think the kids books of adventures were nice and didn’t have to be linked to the game.
It’s good to expand the franchise, imo. Especially into books. I always think reading is good for people. But I was an English major and writer. So I’m biased.
MMORPGs are different when it comes to storytelling, because it’s always evolving and a little sandboxy. It’s about exploration and side things as much as it’s about main story.
While I absolutely agree that storyline needs to be in the game and I shouldn’t have to go to a novel or story or comic to learn major things, I also don’t like linear on rails storytelling and questing. So it’s complicated.
I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
Blizzard should be at least attempting to drown us all in content.
Fun, story driven, interactively played movie, story drives gameplay, said gameplay further drives story, back and forth…
It’s not like subs are being retained currently.
And, also, the new player retention rate is atrocious.
Fixing THAT hot mess should be at least tied with cleaning up the story thus far and hopefully finding and then never leaving a meta story.
That way, if no one gets lost lore wise, at least players would have an idea what’s going on if they ever feel like they might get lost.
I agree.
