Lol, I always thought that whole thing was just for show during the lawsuits.
Some are purchasable off the bat. Some still need you to complete the event before they appear on the vendor. These include, sadly, the ones from the bugged event that are BiS for many specs (Fathomdweller and Stormbringer for example.)
Like most social experiments. It provided results and was abandoned.
CC was a useless PR move. A way to say “we’re listening” instead of using that tired old line again. But not actually meaning it any more than past times it was trotted out.
It was only needed because they couldn’t bother ever reading the other feedback they got and addressing common topics. Had to wallow in incompetence that ‘it’s too hard to sort forum topics and Reddit threads by popularity!!!’
Maybe hire a single damn person to act as a go-between for community feedback and design/dev teams. Wasn’t that Lore’s entire job before you axed it? Stop laying off people who are useful, instead of data analysts.

That is the job of the Community Managers, yes. Lore was one of them, but not the only one. Blizzard still has them and they still do collect and pass on info, they don’t talk to the Community though. Or, I should say they do it rarely.
