So chromie time in shadowlands

Chromie time is a huge opportunity for WoW. The chance to introduce a “midgame” to WoW.

Leveling is early game. once you are done leveling you are at endgame. That is the current system.

This idea is very much inspired by soul’s latest video so here is a link to help explain things better than I can: https://youtu.be/0n6IM1FXSTw

The idea of a midgame. The option to lock your character at 50 in chromie time so everything is scaled to you. This would allow players to progress through an expansion as though it was the current one.

Imagine starting with vanilla WoW (which could be re added into retail) and progressing to level 50. Once there you lock your character and continue from there. You progress through all the content of vanilla. Complete all the questlines and patch content. After you finish it you move to outland and the burning crusade and do the same. Repeat throughout all the expansions.

Removed questlines could be updated and re added. The MoP and WoD legendary questlines and the associated legendary items could be re added. Legion artifacts could be turned back on.

Making an expansion’s unique systems active for that expansion’s content. The legion artifact would not function outside of legion content. The same with BFA and the heart of azeroth and so on.

This could be used to allow a player to play from the very beginning all throughout WoW in order as if it was current. At the same time if you only wanted to play a specific expansion you could go and do that.

The difference between this and what it was like in that expansion would be that the gameplay systems and classes would be that of the current expansion. So you would have shadowlands class design. This is a limitation that I doubt we can get around however I believe that is just fine.

I really do wish they would do this. I have zero desire to play Classic itself but I would love to revisit those quests and storylines on a character that could then move past them. Now that they’ve already put in the work to get the original game files back and hammered into the modern engine, I don’t see why they couldn’t add them back in as one of the leveling methods and just lock flying out of them.

I may have been secretly hoping this could also be a way to get the old Zul’Gurub back in retail, since it was removed to be replaced with the garbage that’s there now. Same could be said for Zul’Aman as well.

God yes please. ZG was my jam back in the day. And I could finally get my Zandalar rep filled up - it’s been halfway through Revered for X number of years. :sob:

sadly your asking for stuff that is beyond the skill of the current dev team I mean look at all the features they tossed out because it was too incompatible or they simply couldn’t find the time to make it work given their limited capacity to do the job as their predecessors

were lucky they just didn’t make everything look like Minecraft and slap a WoW logo on it

It’s still one of my favorite raids to this day. I still wish they would do more with Hakkar.

In addition to this, have previous expansion dungeons and raids have a level 50 scaled single player “story mode” so you can fully enjoy the content while still making the content somewhat challenging.

I would love an option to experience past xpacs at lvl. There is a lot of removed content that really neuters the stories those xpacs told.

This would also be amazing.

I have high hopes that they’ll remember he exists in SL. We know Bwom and the loa-related afterlife are getting some attention, and that seems like a ripe opportunity to see what their Blood God is up to.

the sad part is we will have to meet Pamela Redpath again she had quite a tragic storyline in the plaguelands

This. My Fang of Venoxis might be my favorite drop of all time.

i kinda hope blizzard does this it would really give a sense of oh look what came of her spirit after we helped her

yeah as long as she didn’t turn into the little girl from the ring

They could do this via phasing of the zones if they wanted.
Probably a bit taxing on the resources at first, but it’d be nice walking through barrens from Vanilla, play through TBC/WOTLK and witness the cataclysm again.

I would love if they did this.

I love classic as it is but before launch all i really wanted was access to the old world again.

For years ive wished they would add a vanilla week for the timewalking event, but have it be all the original versions of the instances theyve changed over the years. , just any way to access that stuff would be amazing

give us back the old Wrath gate battle which includes the undercity invasion even if its just a scenario that was truly an epic solo instance

agreed. It was originally removed because cata broke necessary flags when they remade the old world. They didn’t want to do the necessary work.

Now however I do believe it is much easier to make those kinds of things for them.

Said a billion times and will say a billion more. They need to add Vanilla back to the game via a Caverns of Time Portal and introduce it in Chromie Time. I miss Old Westfall and Darkshore.

I would just love to go get the transmog for what my rogue was wearing at level 60. It’s been removed from the game. :frowning:

This is awesome.
What about the endgame content such as Isle of Thunder and Suramar. Should they be baked into the 10 - 50 experience or put into this mid game feature.
