Who was this change for? I still had gear that I was working towards, so I could replace them with weaker items I had. It is not like I had all the time to farm raids and M+ for marks, I usually get a day out of the week.
I had hoped to keep working on improving my items until lfr opened and then replace them. Now what is there to get my items ready?
Then thare the items that are not at full level, so there now just usless junk as there not going to get any stronger.
Could Blizzard had just let those who want to grind them out for another week just do that? Is it that nessasry to force poeple to run raids and M+?

is the items season 2 you are trying to upgrade?
or is it the new greens?
You should be able to upgrade old season 2 gear for appearances once you get higher ilvl gear from season 3 to flag yourself as not needing crests. Pretty sure you’ll still need to spend the usual half amount of flightstones though.
But would be best to not do that now unless on a throwaway character.
Updating this: as others have said later this is not the case. Back when I checked mid-October this was still possible to upgrade 10.1 gear.

From where and what ilvl? I was trying to get this neck item replaced with a new one. I had one but it now stuck at 234.
Bro just do 10.2 content. Gear that low is 9.1/korthia ilvl

I have mixed lfr gear and had some normal level raid items that I wanted to upgrade to replace.
can not upgrade anything from season 2 would not let me get the option to so replace it with the greens you have received
What level does 10.2 greens start at? Then how high can they upgrade too?
I got two items drop that were both over 400 ilvl just doing the Emerald Green story quest chain last night. You also get several quest rewards that over 400 ilvl. On top of that they can all be upgraded.
dont remember but at rank 4 or 5 its 424-428

That’s ilvls for everything changed in 10.2, even old content is updated.

I’m getting green gear that upgrades to better than the 424/437 gear I have on my main.
The only restriction is that I need to gather flightstones again since they vanished my 2,000 I had a few days ago.
Yeah they told us yesterday they were yeeting our flightstones.
I vaguely recall there being dream flightstones (basically 10.2 version of the 10.1 currency) in earlier ptr builds but guess they got smart.
it was turned to gold to keep it fair for other players type of thing
The upgrade NPC wouldn’t accept any of my s2 items.

Hoped for a chance to use some of my marks before the raids opened. But if there are way to get replacement than I am not stuck.
