On the main topic, I agree with the OP. Yeah we bought shadowlands and we all thought it was gonna be better than BFA. We get one major content patch in a year and we pay a sub every month. I use wow tokens to fund my other accounts, but I finally caved and got a 6 month on one account. I got like, 5. Anyway, compared to other games this doesn’t feel good. You grind and grind and grind then next stuff comes out “you’re stuff is worthless.”
You can only get a discount now if you 3 or 6 month sub, can’t use gold for wow tokens to get a 3 or 6 month bout of game time anymore either at a lower price. I’m here anymore honestly just to chat with folks in game, maybe pass out bags to the occasional new person, and do auction house stuff. RPing I want to do but it doesn’t feel quite the same.
LOL there’s a reason I mostly stuck to sandwich talk. It’s been fun!

We do get access to their Classic servers as a perk of the subscription plus some free mounts if your recurring 6 month sub hits at the right time. But aside from that for those specifically paying to access Shadowlands it feels a bit meh. I suppose we could grind out the gold to play for free while someone else buys the token, but that isn’t necessarily a real solution just a way to feel less ashamed.
In the end we pay for a service which I would stipulate also includes regular recurring content updates. I’m sure however if Blizzard could get away with it they’d charge us for those big patches like they were DLC’s on the side.

6 cov callings a day at approximately 2k a piece = roughly 300k passive gold a month. If you have 2 toons you keep in rotation every 3 days it’s easily sustainable. Do not be the crazy person and do the same one on 6 separate toons every day.

Do what I did and just quit to be honest. Came to the realization that I didn’t feel the game was worth my $68 or whatever it is every 6 months so I quit.
Being in a content drought twice for 6 over months in the same expansion is horrible. I’ve been vocal about it here before, so I put my money where my mouth was. If the game is in a good place in 9.3 or 10.1.5, I will consider coming back. Until then, I’m playing other games.

Yeah that is one way to do it for sure. In addition to rare mount farm, matt farms, perhaps enchanting and selling potions via alchemy. It isn’t necessarily free though as it costs time and that time could be technically spent making money irl which would be far more than the cost of a sub (i.e. waste of my time).
It’s almost as if you can unsub and then resub later when a patch hits . . .

Yeah especially since tokens are at like, 200k I think. If it was 100k like it was ok but since a lot of people aren’t buying tokens like they were the price went up.
Which is a bad argument because subs are a chunk of their income. If people unsub they definitely will take notice and try to improve things. We shouldn’t be pushed to the point of unsubbing because the value just seems to not be there. Granted there is older content, but most of us have been playing this game for a decade or longer in here.

Oh I did forget to mention that if you do do it that way you eventually hit exhaulted and then you can try for paragon boxes for mounts / toys etc so there is that. I STILL don’t have all those stupid mounts.
