Will of the Necropolis and AMS nerfs were completely justified. However, DKs went from being un-killable gods to one of the most viable targets to train with a single hotfix, that’s a sign a change was overboard.
Death Knights just had their main source of defense cut in half. After the Death Strike nerf DKs are healing for about 4% with MS applied (and that isn’t even taking into account how much worse that is going to get in dampening.) You’re likely better off pressing Death Coil and hoping you can kill someone before you inevitably die. It’s not good when you’re debating whether or not you should press your defensive button while you’re dying in PvP.
Walk back that Death Strike nerf please. I’d prefer this not to be one of those changes that happens at the beginning of an expansion only to be walked back in 10.2 or 10.3 when PvP devs finally notice that DKs have one of the lowest levels of participation in rated PvP.
I don’t doubt you could get way bigger Death Strike heals if you’re getting hit for 60% of your health within a few seconds, but even in games where I’m the main kill target I’m lucky if my Death Strike is healing me for 5% of my HP. The highest Death Strike I’ve seen today is 8%, and that was without an MS debuff or dampening.
And besides, DKs ability to sustain burst isn’t the issue with this nerf. I’d be completely fine if Blizzard completely axed the burst healing component of Death Strike in PvP and massively buffed the minimum health that Death Strike gives you to compensate. DKs don’t have any passive mitigation like other classes do, healing is their mitigation.
Imagine relying on healing as a defensive… Good thing you have half a dozen others. Wanna switch places? I’ll deal infinite damage from behind a pillar with rot while mitigating every spellcast in a 10 mile radius. You die from the wind changing directions =D Fair trade.
Yeah that’s not the point it’s that they made an active ability with counterplay useless but kept the toxic gameplay passives. Agree 110% the nerfs were justified, I still feel like an unkillable god maybe these dks relied to heavily on DS. Still hit a 98k DS heal in a BG ofc dampening will lower its healing DK tears are funny.
They should still nerf DH and others along with buffing Ret etc.
I absolutely despise fighting DKs yet I have no problem admitting the nerfs were heavy-handed af. For sure wotn and ams needed to get touched, but DS just got absolutely TATERED. All those nerfs hitting @ the same time was brutal and I actually feel bad for DKs as hard they just got hit.
Not without a Dark Succor proc you didn’t, even with a Dark Succor proc it’s unlikely. You’d need like 4 people dumping insane amounts of burst into you, a pocket healer keeping you alive, and no MS effect on you, because to get a 98k Death Strike you’d need to take more damage than you have health within the span of 5 seconds (about 400k damage total).
If you like the DK changes you can just say so, you don’t have to make up imaginary scenarios to justify your opinions.
they weren’t overboard. you’re not suppose to be an immortal god. quit crying and actually play the game. i have a feeling that most of the people on this forum don’t even play the game half the time when they make stupid posts.
