Not a thing anymore? Was this something that was added later? I remember it always being there…Kind of annoying when kiting that i can’t zoom out as far as i’d like =(
This was driving me crazy because the camera max distance you used to be able to zoom out a significant amount. Now you can’t. However I found an addon to fix that. Goes all the way out to helicopter cam. It’s called max camera or something. Found it on the twitch dangol

I have no idea what you’re talking about. you can increase your max camera distance in the settings…unless I’m misunderstanding something
They’re talking about extending the camera zoom to an actual reasonable range instead of the 25 yards it currently is locked at without Addons.
There are I think, 2-3 addons that can fix this, one of which is linked above to increase it to (I think) 50 yards.
Think LeatrixPlus does this too.
I cant stand it out that far, but like ut further than default.
Just make a macro (because the Camera distance resets on log out) with this
/console CameraDistanceMaxFactor 2.5
I use it everytime I log in. Gets me the furthest distance I can. Macro is for all toons too.

Yep, just a cvar or console setting. No addon required.
the /console command does not increase it. You might be fooling yourselves…

I swore it used to be 5, but obviously it never worked so I’ve been using 2.5 instead. I’ll have to give this a try for sure!
There is a /console command that works, if you use the number 4 at the end.
It’s something like,
/console setmaxcameradistance 4
