Na, imo people should be upset at thier elected officials they the ones writing the tax code…

But meh whatever

Being upset doesn’t do any good when companies write the huge campaign donation checks to either an R or a D to keep the status quo going. No amount of anger will help.

Well then I guess why vote…

That is a good question really since it’s possible your vote won’t do anything. Case in point the Electoral College decides you are wrong and votes for the other person. You also have huge media companies all morphing in to one entity and influencing radio and TV like Sinclair Broadcasting and such.

One day, when you enter the adult world, you’ll find out that companies have been playing the system for many years, well before you could blame any certain person.

Electoral college is a good thing or only 3 states would only elect the president…granted it only a handful now but meh whatever

Which is why voting doesn’t really matter. The Electoral College will do what it wants to do regardless of how you vote. It’s really a guessing game every time they’re involved as to wither you pick what they did or not.

To be fair they do this so that specific locations don’t have disproportionate power. Rhode Island, if we just used the popular vote, would have almost no power to combat what California wants. Except that everyone has to deal with the results of the votes, and they shouldn’t be punished for living in the wrong region.

Without a way to balance the popular vote into some semblance of equality we’d see just a very few states commanding almost all of the power. That would leave most states without any real say, and everyone in those states without any real say.

What are you talking about? With a popular vote FOR PRESIDENT, each person would have just as much say as any other person. States have nothing to do with it. “California” is not a single entity that votes the same way, it is millions of individuals all with their own votes. The President is not congress, and does not make laws.
