Probably depends on the wing whether it makes sense to take that, yea. I’m just really glad they got rid of the floor bosses that just spammed non-interruptable spells. When I did layer 6 the week before they nerfed it, THAT really ruined everything for me. I loved Torghast before that and then suddenly I walk in and everything is lethal and it feels like I’m walking into a heroic raid by myself
now at least with good powers you can play around - most - bs
Get defensive anima powers, don’t stand still, don’t rescue the fairy (I had that problem too and just didn’t rescue her) CC one of the elites (they’re only in packs of 2 if i remember correctly? I’d just control undead one), the anima powers are fine, guess you need to get more Venari rep if you have bad luck, portal rooms are fine. It’s 100% doable and it’s not meant to be a breeze.
really wish people would stop obsessing over layer 8, (layer 8 i did this, layer 8 i did that, suck it up noob), yeah ok not all of us have the convenience of being able to raid all day to combat the low gear drops and have raid gear, alot of these issues players are having in layers 2 - 6, i just flopped out of a layer 2 run cause floor five the game decided it would be great to have a bunch of mobs in a very tiny space with two of those mortor tower things, couldnt get past the end gate keeper cause he hits too hard. Im running in unholy spec so no i dont have the ability to heal threw it as easy as blood.
I had a lot of problems in layer 7… Floor 1.
Working as intended…
6+ im ok with it being a pain, those layers are supposed to appeal to people that love that extra challenge, im sick of getting screwed over all the time in layers 1 - 4 is my complaint.
Mort’regar is very over tuned - layer 8. I did my second attempt today with a well geared group (192 to 196) and failed at the end of layer 5 at the portal mini-boss. so basically 4 hours wasted with no results. BLizzard please fix this. it is starting to frustrate me, as opposed to enjoy the game.
Just about everything you listed is hyperbole.
Layer 8 was a cake walk for Mort. Now Coldheart, that place can < Insert an extremely lot of foul language > and never come back.
I did layer 1 of this cursed place yesterday and could barely get through it. I kept checking that I was indeed on layer 1.
I can do layer 3 of Coldheart easily. Something is way off in Mort’regar.
It may have something to do with the Torments. I got one the other day that increased my Magic damage taken by 3% per floor; on Layer 8 that could be disastrous.
With the current pet squishiness and aggro issues, it can turn into a circus real fast. For some hunters, it comes pretty standard with managing your pet and they’re used to it, but I think especially some MM and maybe even SV mains trying to make it easier by switching to Beast Mastery, it might be a bit of a struggle.
I have to be hitting Mend Pet on CD and prioritizing defensive anima powers. And with the extra magical damage taken in Mort’regar, it often can shred hunters to pieces. Pets die to cleave extremely easy nowadays and some mobs can 2-shot my pet. And then take into account if your pet dies, most of your damage and utility is flat out gone. Takes 4 seconds to rez the pet, all the while hoping those mobs that killed it don’t beat you death the whole time ![]()
Beast Mastery is still great at solo content, but the pets have definitely taken a hit this expac so far, and it’s really hurt the specs survivability. On my hunter, Mort’regar is definitely one of my least favorites.
I know for myself I would happily trade the Eyes of the Beast anima power for one that reduces our pet rez cast back to 2 seconds or even getting Phoenix back again.
SAME. I take one look at that anima power and just choose literally anything else.
