So BFA is better than Dragonflight now?

Sure, but still better then df imo.

You could scale difficulty, progress with the titan tech tree, get better loot, play solo or with ppl

Some affixes were aids (fear circle when in stormwind vision) but overall not bad

Well said.

The whole “affixes should buff and heal us instead of make things harder” nonsense during Thundering was pretty unbelievable.

The only thing wrong with BfA was the Pathfinder spitegate. MoP was my fave but BfA 8.2 on was a close second. :hear_no_evil::see_no_evil::speak_no_evil:

And since we’re giving takes on BfA, I’m gonna offer a different one.

BfA is hands-down the worst expansion in the game’s history, because it decimated the raiding scene.

Personally, I had more long-time friends quit during BfA than during any other expansion. Some came back for Shadowlands (and have happily been playing ever since) but most are gone for good, it seems.

But it wasn’t just me. The top two guilds on our server (both Top 50 guilds) went belly-up during BfA, too.

And the reason was the same: Ion made progression raiding into a second job during BfA.

It wasn’t just the M+ grinding.
And it wasn’t just the AP grinding.
And it wasn’t just the essence grinding.

But all three of them together
 :scream:

BFAs themes were alright, but the azerite armor and AP grind really poisoned a lot of opinions about it. Justifiably so. Still there was a handful of thing to like about BFA. Drustvar was so good
still, I think they remember it fondly because of what came after.

Shadowlands was absolutely so terrible throughout that everything else seems nearly perfect so its really giving other expacs some rose tinted glasses effects.

No
I still cant stand BFA. SL even more.
Only time I step foot in them is if I need something specific and cant find it on the AH.

Pretty much. Same crap with the SL anima grinding.
No thanks.
If thats what they have to do for cereal filler, I’ll pass thanks.
Rep/renown grinding is enough. I got no interest in grinding 2 dozen other numbers.
precisely one of thing main things that burned me out on DF, though I enjoy the content. Im not grinding another stinking flightstone. Screw that.

They decided they wanted the core playerbase to be that sort of player. And it worked to make those players happy. Other players, not so much. Blizzard was confused why “DRAGONS!!!” didn’t bring back all the people who left over the years about gameplay issues. They’re still waiting for them to come back, because they sure as heck have no intention of catering to casuals or solo players.

According to the data, not really lol. There was a sizeable drop after Season 1 but that was about it, the rest of the time it was pretty stable. In fact, BFA did better than both Shadowlands and Dragonflight in the same time period lol.

BfA was a mixed bag for sure.

It was very feature heavy, though all the features were pretty meh. The PvP was pretty good. The zones were all interesting. It kept me playing.

BfA’s biggest issue was that it came hot off the heels of Legion a very good expansion.

I could see why people would be fond of the second half of BFA S4, but like Legion, they are forgetting how bad it was until they made several changes, like letting you buy powers rather than it being full RNG.

Stopped reading after this, no one’s claiming to be anyone’s savior or representative. Blizzard does not exclusively listen to “top players” either, some wild fantasy GD has been riding for years. Only 2 of the people in this broadcast cited BFA S4, and it was specifically for corruption and the seasonal affix, not whatever overarching design mess you’re droning on about.

Also coming from a guy who wrote that yawn-worthy piece on wanting mythic gone, I think people could care less what you say on this. DF is leagues better than BFA as a whole.

TBC and WOTLK were perfectly enjoyed when they came out. Why do you think the player base was at its peak then?

You guys clearly don’t listen to those 3. You just see they have a podcast and are top players and make assumptions about what they say. If you don’t like what they are saying, simply turn their streams off/dont listen to the podcast. If you actually listened, they have been mentioning quite regularly lately about how they believe the casual player base is correct, we need more systems like mage tower to come back. Something challenging, but accessible to the entire player base with no power tied to it. How exactly is that championing for the top 1% when they agree with what you guys want?

That episode as well, they talked about trying to remedy the current depletion status of M+, which the community also has a problem with. They talk about removing the weekly affixes and giving us a seasonal again. They have been saying this for a while now, but you guys seem to think they are on board with just gutting everything casual players want, when that isn’t exactly true all the time.

Except according to Blizzard, the Mage Tower wasnt actually a very big success and I am saying this as someone who loved the Mage Tower.

See they have no clue what they are talking about.

We are in the midst of an entire expansion full of stuff that doesnt reward player power. What is the result? A dead open world.

We have an expansion where the gearing in M+ is more boring and determinstic / quicker than ever. What is the result? Lower players than ever.

Your favourite streamers just do not understand why people play WoW, in fact they dont even seem to understand why they themself play and enjoy the game.

Only Dorki comes close, which is obvious given that Dorki has by far the best instincs of the group, as does YumyTV which is interesting given ur name.

Yeah who cares about the most important metric to determine the success of Dragonflight lol? Like what.

Thank god I started playing WoW in mid Legion.
Had I started in WoD, BFA or SL, Id have lasted about a month tops and quit, lol.

You really are just that far gone but I’ll bite

I have actively cleared all of the raids you’re talking about, all of BFA and all of DF. I am part of that metric you’re talking about, yet I thoroughly enjoy DF better than BFA (and SL for that matter). The participation alone does not dictate how good or bad something was. But keep throwing that dumb argument around.

the alliance Mail set wasnt too bad either from the season 1 warfront. I use that from time to time on my hunter

I actually liked BfA. I didn’t like the whole corruption nonsense. But I liked most of the rest. Alliance arathi plate set is still the best set in the game.

I thought BFA had some terrific story driven questing for both Horde and Alliance. Probably one of the best in terms of cohesive story telling through the levelling experience. You had a reason for being in each zone and cared about the outcome.
