So Are Weak Auras and Deadly Boss Mods going to be a thing in Classic?

Wont these things corrupt the purity of the experience more than any changes Blizz ever could have made?

No one is forcing you to use the addons if they are available. :beers:

Maybe for those that use them.

Addons are optional.

How? Addons were used in Vanilla. Either troll or haven’t researched the topic.

there were boss mods and poweraura in vanilla, what you talking about

Using LFR is also optional. But still ruined the game.

If it were for me I’d ban all addons but I know that won’t happen unfortunately u.u

Competition will force most people to use. You guys are delusion if you think they wont. Addons back then were nothing compared to modern ones.

It’s a game feature, however. It’s there whether you use it or not.

You’re right. They were much worse and “played the game for you” a heck of a lot more than they do now.

lol sure thing bud.

Blizzard decides what addons can and cannot do.

might wanna do some actual research on the subject before applying your sarcasm; makes you look silly.

The UI is horrendous, not sure how you could back the mess it is to drag you eyes all over the screen when you can centralize it.

Never had problems with it. For everything else, there is macros.

Both of those already have classic versions.

uh, no? DBM was a thing back in Vanilla and it wasn’t necessary. it’s not even necessary now. if you wanna use it, use it. if you don’t, don’t. it’s just that easy. no add-ons are required to be successful in Classic.

These addons exist in vanilla albeit not as pretty or sleek looking but the core functionality existed.

You are comparing Apples to Oranges… Addons are an optional client side thing that affects no one else. LFR on the other hand is an in game system that negatively impacts the game as a whole by adding another arbitrary raid difficulty that people use to acquire free gear.

Comparing those things to each other is mind boggling honestly, I could go on for paragraphs and paragraphs on why that comparison does not make any sense at all.

Honestly, this thread ends at this–

– because that was very true. A lot of the addons that people are crying about existed back in Vanilla albeit in different iterations.

People gonna take the easy road…

Clearly you never played Vanilla… If you did, you’d know that similar addons existed during Vanilla too… so No, it wont corrupt the purity of the experience because the authentic Vanilla Included addons too:

Here’s a peek to how the UI of the average serious player looked like during Vanilla:

As you can clearly see, Addon’s everywhere… Everything from raid frame addons, to threat addons, buff/reminder addons, ui customization addons, class specific addons (i.e. healing addons), weapon timer addons, and so much more…

Current addons are nothing new… most addons used today existed during vanilla in one form or another.

Hell, even BigWigs, which is a popular raiding addon (like DBM) still popular today started during Vanilla… You can even see a similar addon to DBM being used in the 4th screenshot, with it chatting out and displaying warnings/debuffs, etc…
