So.. are we going to have maintenance half the day every day now, or...?

i was watching skiers…but the game is up on the east coast…adios.

i love it more when they’re not home

Are the servers down again, been in class all morning so haven’t been on my PC.

I find breadmakers overrated, if you have a dutch oven(I found one in my basement and rehabbed it) you have all you need for a rustic loaf AND amazing one pot meals(I really really like to cook lol)

do not mistake dissent
for lack of relaxation.
i can dissent/opine and
relax simultaneously…
just like i’m eating and
respirating and digesting
all at once…not even thinking
about it…ok…adios…off to play.

Yeah, but I’m too lazy to make bread in an oven lol. Love my breadmaker.

I think you misunderstood. I said “you” instead of “we” because I don’t consider myself to be in the “If you don’t like it, then leave” bucket. So, when I said “you people,” I was referring to people in that bucket that I don’t consider myself to be in.

Again, you miss the point. I wasn’t trying to make some point. I was trying to ask a question and find an answer.

I never said it was. Again you missed the point. I’m starting to believe you are deliberately missing the point.

Now this is the “point” of the thread. The “point” being, I want to find out what the scenario looks like for when people do more than just complain.

Fair enough-for some reason I always manage to mess up bread in breadmakers but can make tasty loaves in the oven

“Sir, calm down…”

"I AM CALM , GO&^%#&IT! "

FYI, if you have more patience, you can even cut out the yeast. There is already yeast in the flour and air and basically everywhere. Tossing yeast packet into the mix just speeds things up.

I only mention this because if you are a long term regular bread maker, it might interest you to make your own starter utilizing the yeast you literally breath around you

theyre back up

It was like less than an hour.

People need to get this part through their heads. The average WoW player is roughly 30 give or take and I would say an OVERWHELMING majority work some sort of standard shift. Yes, there will be people working 2nd or 3rd shift, but they are easily in the minority leaving the rest to be unable to play anyway during these downtimes due to being at work.

Blizzard (and frankly all companies) has the data on when their players are active and pretty much every single one does regular maintenance during the morning of a weekday. It simply isn’t worth paying employees a differential for overnight maintenance when most people aren’t going to be on at 8 AM on a Tuesday and you can do it then.

I agree. Now that China is no longer their biggest market, they should aim more for North American middle of the night.

one of the trolls here yesterday claimed they wouldnt have to do this because blizzard has a full complement of employees working first, second and third shift already. that one gave me a laugh

I’m sure you would be totally for working in the middle of the night.

Looks like it was only an hour.

Are half days, days now? omg

In this day and age anyone willingly agreeing to work at 3 AM or whatever without a pay differential is an idiot. The company can choose not to offer one, sure, but it is up to the employee to decline the employment contract under those circumstances.

Regardless, the idea that Blizzard has a full fledged first, second, and third shift is absurd to begin with. I am sure they have a “decently” sized second shift given the size of the company (and the fact we get some hotfixes in the evening supports this), but the idea that they have anything more than the bare minimum overnight that is only there to make sure something doesn’t explode (and to inform others if it does) is laughable at best.

They don’t. They are the type of folks that will hear about a restaurant Sickening folks and be like, "if you don’t like getting food poisoning don’t eat there?

And when the restaurant is shut down they would get salty about it and blame people whining over nothing. It’s a mental disorder.
