So Ardenweald story is as much troll as night elf?

This really grinds my gears. Bwonsamdi has been the Darkspear’s death god since Cataclysm, but he can’t even have a Shadowlands realm?

Really?

Don’t forget Orcs are essentially the inventors of Shamanism as it exists in-game and yet!

If it is any consolation Elune also seems to lack a realm (you see Kaldorei in all the presented realms) nor any real say in where her devotees go, and the Church of the Holy Light’s adherents are for sure despairing to learn they do not go to the Light.

Everyone sort of got shafted by the Shadowlands design, a bit.

No she doesn’t. Ardenweald is Hers. Her followers are sent to Ardenweald. One of the Night Warriors tells us that.

No, that is night warriors in specific. You see a number of aspritant Kaldorei souls in bastion. Lady Vasj manifested as a kaldorei in Maldraxxus at first but chose her present body instead.

Well apparently not all of them; we call upon the Light to let us see the very much not-Kyrian, not-evil Uther during Legion.

Once it’s revealed all Night Warriors go to Ardenweald, big oof

Maybe they weren’t Elune-worshippers lol

She 100% does not worship Elune lmao she’s a Highborne turned Naga turned Illidari turned Maldraxxi

Yeah I regret opening that pandora’s box. I should of kept my inside thoughts, inside.

Are you implying that Lady Vashj worships Elune?

Danuser has stated that once you serve your intended purpose in the Shadowlands, you can leave your realm and to go to others.

Fully agreed, and it’s irritating to me at this point. I am liking the earlier ideas for Bastion-Ardenweald a lot more. More interesting, less Blizzard tropey.

I really doubt that Blizzard intended to write Ardenweald as a Night Elf zone, but as we get more of the covenant story my opinion on SL is reverting a lot to their high concepts getting spoiled by the committee process favoring the same themes on repeat, which functionally produces what we actually get

Even that doesn’t make Ardenweald hers. The Winter Queen runs it, not Elune. And the nature-aligned from all across the cosmos end up there, whether they worship her or not (unless Huln gave up that An’she nonsense before he died). And others of her followers ended up elsewhere.

She may very well have her own afterlife, somewhere out there. But Ardenweald ain’t it.

The Winter Queen runs it, but she did not start it, nor was she with it from the start. The Mycelium Network recounts that they remember Ardenweald before the Winter Queen’s arrival.

Ardenweald belongs to Elune. She allows the Winter Queen to administrate.

We should have a Story Forum drinking game or bingo and this should be on it.

I said this in one thread and I’ll say it here: Feels Bad Man.

Then that’s more the fault of Blizzard making Night Elves the only ones who use that classical fantasy nature theme, as opposed to Ardenweald itself being Night Elf themed.

An entire zone for a single race from a single planet when the whole idea is that the realms we go to are the final resting places for souls from ALL worlds in the entire cosmos? To the point many NPCs act like they’ve never even heard of Azeroth?

Besides everything, I do wish we could hang out in De Other Side outside of dungeons, mainly because it’s visually stunning.

I realize this is alien to you, because the Alliance has had direct tie ins to every expansion except Shadowlands (until night elves were retconned with Ardenweald), but this was to be the Horde’s time to shine. The Alliance had nothing to tie them positively to death. The Horde had four cultures to tie it positively to death.

But don’t worry. Blizzard made sure Tyrande got her night elf zone and night elves get their troll killing dungeon.

What are you talking about? Every race in the game believes in death lol

Night Elves went to three places:
1: Stayed on Azeroth as wisps.
2: Made into constellations if Elune particularly cared for them.
3: Wisps were in the ED, so I guess they also went to the ED when they died.

Night Elven wild gods also went to the ED. That was all changed.

This is not a question of “believing you will die.” Orcs, Trolls, and Tauren all worship their ancestors. Death is their religion. Forsaken are made via death.

Victim Complex must be really debilitating for you.

I see we’re still going to ignore the two chapters dealing with Bwom and Vol’jin becoming Loa’jin and the loa we nurse via the pods plus the one we save from the Maw.

But sure, it’s a night elf zone…because trees and a single dragon

Giving me an “I Voted for Vol’jin” sticker does not make up for the Night Elf zone and overly dominating night elf quests, no.
