Found my way here from reddit, and discovered that my inactive account can post here in the realm forums.
Is this a bug? Is this an oversight? Is this a feature?
This doesn’t seem like it should be allowed.
Are they going to fix it now that I’ve brought it to their attention?
Well, if my answer posts then the answer is they decided to allow us access to Realm forums.
When they switched to this new Discourse system for the forums, they didn’t have all those restrictions in place - and they added them later. We can’t post in General Discussion, for example, but all the Support forums and Classic Discussion are available. They’ve had quite some time since then, so I’d wager they don’t intend to change it.
(Of course, there’s always the situation of - if it gets abused, they will prevent it. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.)
