So any plans to fix tank pop?

What makes you think blizzard can “fix” community/player issue?
It is end of season most players got their goals done and have moved to greener pastures.

No, dig deeper. It’s only for leveling dungeons and low-tier keys. Not M+ as a whole. The question is why those specifically. The answer is, the community.

This is just 1 anecdote, but I was in a queued normal trying to level up my Monk yesterday. It was Uldaman and first pull everyone stops to fight the one pack even though I’m running ahead to grab more. Not a crazy amount, a typical M+ style pull with 3-4 packs. They complain and tell me to slow down even though no one died and they aren’t bothering to keep up. I tell them to “follow the tank” and I get kicked out.

These people are creating their own tank shortage because they kick out tanks if they don’t like how it’s being done. It’s 100% a community made issue. There are enough tanks in raids and higher M+ keys because good tanks work their way out of “elo hell”/low key brackets.

You are a druid, you can tank

S2 dmg profile is not trying to assassinate tanks in every pack now so it should help a bit.

It’s not entirely community made. Tank is the role that changed the most since Vanilla design-wise and every iteration brought more people to the role.

For example, making dungeon packs more random so that no route would ever have to be memorize and all routes would be improvised could help because many dps players have voiced their discomfort with the responsibility of learning routes. If tanking was literally just being a dps who goes in first, more people would do it.

There’s definitely game design aspects that keep people away from tanking.

Then explain the giant list of tankless, and healerless groups present in group finder. An “enough” amount would result in the same amount of groups who have a tank and healer and are looking for dps. This is objectively not the case at pretty much every key level. I don’t even know why you would pretend it is.

It absolutely would not fix the problem but it would certainly improve the situation.

Yes, some tanks would say “the time it takes for dps to get a group is short enough now that I am going to stop tanking and start dps’ing in m+”.

This is also a huge win! These players prefer to dps. And I want to see players filling the role they prefer! But the time it takes to get a group as dps would be shorter and we’d have more players in their preferred roles.

However, I disagree that a tank shortage is written in stone. If you let the dungeon group size get large enough you would reach a point where there is a dps shortage because the dps:tank ratio required for dungeons is higher than the dps:tank ratio of player preference. But that is not something I’m suggesting.

You’d see a great benefit for a small increase.

Increasing the group size of dungeons is a very different suggest compared to this. It’s like comparing apples to oranges.

What you consider leveling dungeons and low tier keys is the vast majority of the player best. And my suggestion is to improve the game for the many.

I mostly tank dungeons myself so this change wouldn’t benefit me. But I still think it would be better for the game as a whole.

It isn’t though. So many people think they’ve come up with a magic solution like it isn’t something blizzard and a million other people haven’t said too.

I’ve given multiple reasons making dungeon groups six would require a lot of work and it seems blizzard agrees.

Low level
Low reward content

Also, TW dungeons pop off in 2-3 minutes as a DPS…so…that doesnt even hold up

Yes it is work but also there would be benefits.

The question is are the benefits worth the work. And that’s up to blizzard decide.

Its not or they’d have done it by now

Lotta work to fix a small problem in only a specific demographic of the community

Group finder is literally the name of the menu you open to apply to M+ groups.
I didn’t say premade group finder. I didn’t mention match making.
I also said the word “list”, there is no list in premade group finder, only when manually making your group.

“Low level” and “low reward content” doesn’t mean anything tangible, to me anything under 10 is low level low reward content and has been for months.

There are many things that would benefit players in game that blizzard had not done.

Judging from community feedback this isn’t a small problem. People not being able to player your game, in my opinion, is a huge problem.

The queue youre waiting in in queued content is a list

And when you have 40-50 keys being run per minute (last time i bothered to pull the numbers), those “tank/healess” groups kinda pale in comparison

But we can’t see this list so why would I mention it in the context of LOOKING AT IT and the roles populating it?

Try harder, dig yourself deeper. You were wrong, accept it and move on.

And therein lies your issue

This “community” on the forums has been confirmed to only be like 1-2% of the population. And even from that small number, not everyone is unified on what they consider is a problem

And theres absolutely nothing stopping people from playing the game aside from being lazy

Because the bribe bags tell you whats populating it.

The time it takes to form a group tells you how long these lines are

I dont see the sun at night, doesnt mean it suddenly ceases to exist lol good lord youre reaching

No you are. What I said was very clearly about typical M+ listing. You can clearly see and count the roles in there instead of making assumptions like you would with the premade group finder.

Thats the perk of the group finder, you fall through the lists until you land in an opening appropriate for your role at the convenience of waiting for match making

Whereas even with a group of only a tank and healer in LFG listings, im not guaranteed a spot even if they need my role and im the first of that role to sign up
