So Absurd there isn't a Technician/Mechanic Class

Call them whatever you want, Tinkers, Mechanic, Technician, Engineer, Whatever.
It’s completely absurd that this game lacks a Technology focused class when Such things have been omnipresent in the universe for over 25 years.

Warcraft 2 was 25 years ago, and even it had Goblin Sappers, Gnomish Flying Machines, Zeppelins, Submarines
Warcraft 3 Went much bigger into it, Still had Sappers and Flying machines, but also Goblin Shredders, Dwarven Mortar Teams and Seige engines. Even a “Tinker” Hero unit, Just like a Death Knight or a Demon Hunter.

In Vanilla, we still saw the Venture. Co Across all of Azeroth, And Fizzle and Pozzik in the Salt Flats. Plenty of quests involving tech, shredders, and of course the Samophlange.
Burning Crusade saw plenty of Gnomes in Mechs. Chaos orc Technicians, and various Horde and Alliance war Machines
WotLK saw the first introduction of the Mechagnomes, the various Titan constructs of Ulduar, the Oil field. And of course the Mechano-Hog. Which everyone wanted.

And then there was Cataclysm. Which saw an important introduction to World of Warcraft. The Goblins, a primarily Tech focused race to exist as a Horde counterpart to the Gnomes.

From that day forward, a Tinker class has only made sense. We have Two races who’s entire culture is BUILT around technology, and no Technology focused class to play. It’s honestly really disappointing that you can be a Goblin and be surrounded by Shredders, Mechs, explosives, ETC. and be limited to playing something like a Hunter, who’s stuck using Arrows and Animal aspects.

Hopefully Blizzard will add a class that embraces the uniqueness of the Warcraft Universe. A Class the represents an omnipresent part of the Universe. A Class that fits Goblins and Gnomes like a glove.

TL;DR: We’ve seen Technology uses in the Universe for 25 years, but don’t have a Technology class, even though we have Goblins and Gnomes.

This is a weird and dismissive reply of someone earnestly laying out their case for why there should be a tinker class when you also agree there should be a tinker class…

Not having a caster matters more, Necromancer>all right now.

I don’t see the point, theres no unique anything they can do with them.

I don’t see any class with Mechs, turrets, or healing that also uses ranged weapons.
How is that not unique?

We only have 1 class that uses ranged weapons. They ONLY use Agility, and the ONLY do damage, and they’re locked down with a theme of nature and animals.

gib necromancers and dark rangers blizz

You know I very much like seeing your posts with logical reasoning and justifications. I really hope they bring in the tinker. I agree it would fit wonderfully.

Thank you so much. At least I have better reasoning than these folks

Show to up to every thread so they can get the same Generic class you can get in any rpg.
We have a class that raises undead and uses necromantic power already

i disagree with both the rant and the desire for a tinker class, but i support this thread all the same

Now you’ve lost me.

I mean this is like their third rant thread this week on the topic. It’s spam at this point. Make one thread and keep it there

Hunters with mechanical pets using guns count.

Tinker would steal from existing class ideas.

Turrets = demonology pets, hunter pets, ect
Mech suit = druid bear form

So… a hunter using a mechanical pet.

The pet still looks like an animal.
your abilities are still arrow themed, and fire arrows.
you still use animal aspects.

I don’t see in any universe that that is a Tinker. It’s a Hunter with a robo-bunny.

Ah yes… Because Druid and Hunter are both definitely the same class, and they are both renowned for their use of technology and machines

Mechanically I agree that a Mech suit would proably be similar to a druid’s bear form. Just a special “tank form” that gives you armor and stamina. But literally every Tank spec has a similar passive.
That doesn’t mean it has to play exactly the same as a druid.

I would love a tinker class with all 3 roles to spec into… tanks in mech suits, healers with some sort of potion launchers, med kits and energy bubbles and shields or something, and ranged dps gunners with option of mech pets (yes I know, mechagnome hunters but please AS IF there aren’t other similar classes in game at this point, come on lol) or bombs specialty. :slightly_smiling_face:
