Those 6% then 10% nerfs before SL release is really starting to show and its quite glaring for Frost…We staying this way or nah?

Those nerfs were totally unwarranted and illogicals, seeing Frost mages in the bottom part of the raid logs lol

I’m kinda hoping Blizzard will see the error of their ways and make some changes at this point… but I’m not holding my breath. I’m just riding it out because I dont have the mental capacity for arcane and already have 1 legendary for frost, so might as well sit here and hope. In the meantime, been in serious debates about playing something else, even though i’ve yet to find anything that brings me joy like my mage “has”

Calm down. Everyone was fully doom and gloom for fire right up to SL launch. Now look at them. IF frost is as bad as every one thinks it is, There will likely be a balance pass in the next week or 2. Bliz always waits till post raid launch to start balance tweeks.
So explain to me why Blizz heavily nerfed Frost mages 1 week into Expansion…

Because one/some of their data points collected fell outside of design specifications. Blizzard has never been super transparent about what those are. The fact of the matter is EVERYONE wants to be on the top and mathematically that’s not possible.
If/when they look at those data points again and decide a change is warranted then that’s what will happen. But its just as likely they can see something the average player cant. Or they are taking a wait and see approach to see if itemization will fix it.

Honestly all mage specs need a slight buff. Frost more so. But I also think we just getting overshadowed by broken specs like mm hunter and sub rogues. We just need some real balancing to happen.

Yep! lol Let us nerf frost before xpac even comes out based on less then a hand full of people who play the spec because it was performing so well to begin with… but leave locks and spriest that far ahead of everything else… I get we all get nerfs and buffs but this was a bit too far. Our playstyle feels outdated and archaic. IMO Ice floes should be baseline at this point, There is next to no time to stand still for 2s and spam FB to fish for FoF/BF procs and let us not even mention poor Glacial spike… But hey as long as we are okay in PvP and not OP there the pve community can suffer according to blizzards actions.

While not everyone can be the top dps, but it is possible to bring all specs within 1-2 % of one another. It’s that they don’t want to do it, or feel they do t have the resources. I for one think that fire would be better all around if you scaled back combustion and put more dmg into the non-combustion rotation. You can totally increase base damage of it’s spells and decrease the benefits of combustion and/or have it available more often. If blizz wants to have it’s focus on combustions, then why not make combustion available on a shorter cd for less? Make fireball, pyro and fireblast hit harder to make up for the loss. Or make combustion something you build towards. IE every ten pyros you combust for like 5 seconds.
Saying that it isn’t possible isn’t true imo.
Bu bu bu I might have my normal raidfinder raid leader ask me to play frost for 1 fight instead of arcane just because I “do less damage than our healers” and “die to every mechanic even with invis shield wall” and “suck” so frost is clearly overpowered :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(. Now let me reply to myself so it looks like I made a good point.

Fire is the best dps class currently for pve and raids and the best mage pvp spec. So no, not all of the specs need a buff.

Compared to what the healers,tanks and frost mages?
World of logs says different… did a firemage compliment you once or something ? That doesn’t put them in amazing category when I’m talking about dps and not how they make you feel. How about some evidence instead of some biased opinion with nothing
