We’ve got an interesting tease at the TWW cinematic, and a couple quests/storylines with Orwenya (I think thats her name). The Wildcamp music on Azj Kahet is really interesting, some tribal vibes, druidism,etc.
But what about the actual Allied Race? The rootlands? New druid forms? Where do they come from, are they related to Darkspear Trolls or Forest Trolls? Is there any new evidence pointing to some reveal on the next patch maybe? All we know is Orwenya heard the world soul voice calling.
I find Undermine really good looking, and with a lot to explore, but the Goblin/Tinker/Steampunk vibe really pales in comparison to Troll Aesthetics - for myself, of course. Looking forward to know more about the Harronir!
Given that Elun’Ahir was introduced in Dragonflight as an underground world tree and we are in the underground expansion, I would be extremely surprised if we didn’t visit it before this expansion is over.
Talking about Elun’Ahir, these roots around the Nerubian kingdom are likely coming from Kalimdor. Might explain the odd appearance of a corrupted world tree in the Emerald Dream’s Un’goro crater and particularly what logic Aman’thul’s vision had against it.
I can’t imagine they would have such a prominence in the trailer and have as many customization options as they do and not be playable. I suspect they will show up in force in 11.2, and there will probably be a quest line to make them an allied race.
The harronir are cool. Like the missing evolutionary between dark trolls and night elves, obviously. I don’t think any dark trolls besides the Shadowtooth Clan have been seen in Warcraft, and they lived near/under Nordrassil and Mount Hyjal. Similar to the harronir being near Elun’Ahir.
Do you think Alliance gets harronir as an allied race, just to give “trolls” to the Alliance? Or do they become neutral? If not, who would the Horde get?
The customization options may just be them using character creation tools to streamline making NPC variants. Especially on a race that doesn’t really wear much clothing to differentiate individuals.
I’m not ruling out an allied race, but I think it could also just be that.
Given that they use the Night Elf rig and they are a druidic society, they feel more like chubby Night Elves with tusks, weird feet and body hair than Trolls.
True. They have some troll features, but definitely look like night elves. I guess we’ll have to see more of their culture in a future patch to determine which way they lean more towards.
Sure we do. If a race looks cool, and people are interested, and if the lore allows it, then why not? So far we’re two for three for the harronir. Just need a bit more work on the lore front.
I wonder what their other forms will look like if we ever get to see them. I’m REALLY hoping for some bioluminescent stuff since we are underground. Like a jellyfish or anglerfish water form. Or those big ear mouse as travel form.
